Hurt and Heal/V2W Combo Game: MLB Edition: Oakland V. Arizona (World Series)

I was thinking about this the other day, and I got around to actually making the thread.

Steps would go like this:

1. Each division (i.e. NL East, AL Central) would play a game of Hurt and Heal, with the winner moving on to step 3. The two second-place finishers in each league with the highest rankings going into the final two move on to step 2. (That is, if Detroit finishes second in ALC with 32 going in, Boston finishes second in ALE with 23 going in, and the Athletics finish second in ALW with 22 going in, Boston and Detroit will win the wild-card slots.

2. The two wild-cards in each division will face off in a V2W; the winner moves on to the playoffs.

3. The playoffs. This section will be played like a V2W, with the winner being the one with the most votes. Here, the AL and NL champions will be crowned bracket-style.

4. The World Series. This section plays like a Hurt and Heal, in that you can hurt and heal the two teams, but from the bottom up, like a Vote to Win. Example, using the 1986 season:

Boston: 1

New York NL: 1
Boston: -1 (yes, you can do negatives)

The first team to reach 25 is the World Series champion.

I'd say Vote to Win simply because whoever wins will win V2W style because it's the "Playoffs". The Hurt and Heal part only decides who gets into those same playoffs.

I actually don't mind the Yankees and Red Sox but meh, the only teams I really care about are the Astros and Rangers.

To be honest, I'd be alright if the Mets don't move on. A game's a game.

Just as long as those damn Phillies don't move on too.

I might just go after the Red Sox for now. I can understand the hate for the Yankees. But I think the franchise history has had enough players like Babe Ruth that they can get some respect. (Even if Babe was originally a Red Sox player).

To be honest, I don't really like any teams in the AL East, but the Yankees and the Red Sox have always annoyed me the most.

I don't hate them. I just don't really care much either about any of these so I just picked a team to hurt randomly. But I think I'll wait until we reach ALW to continue playing.
