Have and always will be a fan of the new. Its just simply gorgeous and so unique and clever with its artstyle. Old's still great but its nowhere the sheer spectacle of the new.

I'm basically always in handheld mode so... this one is kinda easy.

It's why I love stuff like Paper Mario so much, they really went for a wholly unique and gorgeous art style, one that everyone was fully behind, its turned out far better than if they'd kept down the 2D but in a 3D space style the early games tried.

That would be so incredible. I hope we get that sort of thing. Wonder and NSMB look great sure, but there's not really a personality behind those art styles. Stuff like Origins and Ori are incredible and they are made by smaller teams, something like that on a Nintendo scale? A recipe for peak...

Honestly the era from SMB2 to SML2 is my favourite. While later eras probably have more quality styles these earlier art styles weren’t as defined in what they had to look like. The artists personalities shined through a lot more with the earlier works. Plus, you know they actually had artwork...

That was my opinion too. It feels like outside of competitions there’s not much of a showcase of what this community has to offer from Nintendo. And I’d like to think we’re all pretty talented people and that a showcase would be worth it.

I actually draw quite a bit in my spare time although not much of it is Mario. A large part of it are my favourite indie games and the like but I've decided to compile my Nintendo drawings here for the heck of it, plus to make myself eligible for Favourite Artist. I know I'm not likely to win...
