    I honestly thought Mario Party 10 was pretty good, because although it's nowhere near being the best one in the series, I found Bowser Party to be pretty fun and the standard Mario Party to be an improvement over 9. Amiibo Party was okay I guess but the amiibo mechanics just felt phoned in. Minigames were great as always, but 9 had all those unique minigame modes to play them, while 10 only has Minigame Tournament and Coin Challenge. 9 also had a story mode but no one cared to play through Bowser Station 10+ times to hope that luck would be on your side so I don't even care about that removal.

    Personally, I find myself giving 10 the edge, but 9 definitely had the better minigame mode. I did like the different style of the two and enjoyed the faster pacing, making them possibly the best ones if you intend to play Mario Party solo. But in multiplayer, that competitive feel in the style of Mario Parties 1-8 and 11 was just epic and definitely makes me give them the crown, with 11 in particular being my favorite Mario Party I've played as of yet.

    So yeah, while I do think Mario Parties 9 and 10 are overhated, I can understand the disappointment that new style brought, especially considering that it made minigames less frequent and boss fights less interesting. At least it wasn't as lackluster as Top 100 (aka the objectively worst Mario Party).

    Honestly I forgot about Top 100, I also don't own the game but I also saw tons of flaws with that game; the biggest by far being the boards (or board). I understand it's mostly centered towards the 100 minigames but the boards could have received better treatment.

    There's only one board and it uses the Balloon Bash style from Star Rush of all things, it might have the most minigames in the series but none were original, the minigame selection wasn't even balanced and underrepresented 8 and 10 while overrepresenting almost every other Mario Party, and the minigame selection itself wasn't even as great as it could have been. It's essentially an extended minigame mode and little more, and the weakest in the series by far. It was almost as big a letdown as Ultra Smash was.
