does it matter that much, honestly? i'm eastern european, and until a few years ago i wouldn't have been able to tell you were Albania and North Macedonia are situated. and those are literally one or two countries away from mine. now i do know, but so far it served no use to me. how's that any different from the average American not knowing where Russia and the rest of Europe are? despite their geopolitic relevance, i maintain that if you're a random Joe or Jane you don't really need to be concerned with that.
