Some philosophies though in my opinion are just dumb, like that "empiricism" philosophy-that experience is the only source of knowledge. So...basically, according to empiricism, if someone tells you that putting your finger on a hot candle flame will burn it and hurt you, that's not enough-the only way you can know for SURE that it will hurt you is if you put your finger in the hot candle flame yourself and burn it and have it get hurt and swell up. 
Yeah, that's stupid. Whoever came up with that philosophy, good job. You're a genius (sarcasm!).
