i just downloaded it from deviantart and then opened it

it's not the model as I've redownloaded it multiple times

Possibly a compatibility issue. Are there other formats available?

i do know that there's sfm and gmod versions, but idk if they would work

i'm using a .blend version of trixie lulamoon

SFM and Gmod versions probably use an mdl format that requires decompiling with Crowbar, which would generate an .smd file that requires Blender to have a plug-in to import.

The .blend you have is probably incompatible with your version of Blender. What version of blender was the .blend created in?

creator of the model only says it was last updated in 2018

my version of blender is 2.83

So that's a pretty old model, since 2.83 was released this year. I'm pretty sure that you're experiencing a compatibility issue.

I find it pretty strange that there's no .obj, .dae, nor .fbx variants, since those are very common model formats that can be used with multiple programs.

Well if you have a Steam account, SFM is free.

Man people should be releasing .fbx and .dae at minimum, not .blend. This is like me releasing .mb (maya binary) files.
