  • What are somethings that you would love see in the Archie Mario comics or somethings you don't want to change in the book, like, tone, writing, characterization, and art style?

Considering the fate of Sonic the Hedgehog and his time as an Archie Comics character, I'd say Nintendo really dodged a bullet by rejecting Archie Comics' pitch for a Mario comic adaptation.

Eh, from what I know about Archie, much of that came from the time period. Archie was new to making game comics (because video games were new as a cultural phenomenon) and Sega gave them a very long leash at the time. Some might say Sega should have been more picky about the results, but on the other hand I hear Archie had enough trouble making the comic as it was and heavy oversight might have just killed it. Oh and there was also the terrible mismanagement of the creative team, probably important to mention that part. By the time of the Sonic reboot, of which I think this pitch comes after in the timeline, I think most things leveled out.

The art is awesome. The described narrative is gripping. I don't know if I'd buy the comic, especially because at the time I didn't have money. If it magically appeared in the present? Maybe. I think Flynn has the right call though. The pitch sounds like it was driving Super Mario pegs into Sonic and Mega Man shaped holes. (Because those were the comics he wrote.) Interesting? Yes. The best option? Well, Mario video games actively shun a consistent narrative in favor of running wherever the developers feel they should take it. The Mushroom Kingdom got destroyed in a mobile game most people don't care about, because it justifies a building feature. Sonic and Mega Man were trying to create lore and arcs as early as their third games. I'm sure the userbase on a wiki would like to connect the dots of Mario's stars, but oddly connecting the dots and adding an undercurrent of location and weight to the proceedings may well pull the whole thing farther from the source material.

Then again, if this comic did come out, it might have survived until Odyssey launch. And if that happened, then Big Top would be a Bonneter. I rescind my prior opinion.
honestly it what would be cool in a brand new mario tv show is seeing other mario characters perspectives. i would love to see the adventures that mario and the gang would be in, but i would love to also see other characters getting the spotlight to, maybe to me it feel like the show would keep things interesting and engaging, to see like, we can see a main episode were wario goes on a treasure heist, or see bowser and his minions going on a journey, .so would you like to see that in a brand new mario tv show too?

I also enjoy when side-characters get a chance to have a dedicated episode.

it is very interesting see to side characters having there own episodes, mainly because we get to see there daily lives and seeing there own point of view. or we can see them having there own story and adventure.
Hello there, this is my first , this is my first post, and my question is, would you like a brand new super Mario tv show that is done entirely 3D or more of a hand drawn show that captures the 2d artwork by yoichi kotabe and shigehisa nakaue

But to me personally, I don't really mind either cause, it has been quite a while since Mario adapted to any other media outside from the games , (I mean there were attempts to expand the property outside video games, like a cancelled fleetway Mario comic and a another cancelled Mario comic made by Archie comics and a cancelled Mario animated project) but hey, good news is we got an animated Mario movie , which (to me was a pretty faithful adaptation to the games) and if we get a 3D Mario tv show that's cool and if it's a hand drawn tv show then…. That's cool too, to me , what really matters is that Mario series FINALLY gets a brand new tv show, and that is something I would be into!!!!!!

Mario is just seen more as a character in 3d, like all the games he's in is either 3d or a Paper Mario game. Marketing for him certainly leans 2d sometimes but he's just much more familiar animating in 3d space.

Interesting , Mario is seen in 3D since there has been artwork for Mario and the characters in 3D , given that the fact that his recent games like , Mario and rabbids sparks of hope , had the characters animated in 3D so, sure , a 3d Mario tv show is not a bad idea, but I don't mind a 2d show too, as I mentioned before it really doesn't matter what animation style is used for the show, what matters to me is that we get a brand new Mario tv show, but hey if you prefer a 3D show over 2d , or a 2d show over 3D then that is perfectly fine that is your perspective and that is okay of which you prefer over =)
