Because the Wario franchise is supposed to be a different Franchise than Mario. For some reason, Wario and Waluigi still appear in Mario spin-offs (which i find foolish), but the other Wario characters should never appear in Mario spin offs.

That's why (one of the crazy Mario) fan theory(ies), that Jumpman and Mario are not the same character, was born.

I agree. Every console have its "flagship Mario" as you call it. For the Wii it's Galaxy, for the Wii U it's SM3W, and for the Switch it's Odyssey. It will be foolish to port these games.

I believe DK JR. is the current DK and is the son of Cranky Kong, mainly because of the fact that DK JR. appeard in Super Mario Kart but was replaced by DK in other Mario Kart games.
