I still remember hearing that SNES The Lion King was intentionally made to be hard, all in an attempt to make people buy that game. Likewise, while Final Fantasy VII is known for being among the greatest games in the PS1 era, it's absolutely scandalous that Square Enix decided to make the Ruby...
It definitely makes you wonder what would've happened if N64 Bowser's Castle was ever available in Mario Kart Tour. It probably would've gotten in over SNES Bowser Castle 3 in the final Booster Course Pass wave.
But now that the pass is complete, all that we can really do is move forward.
It was a wild ride while it lasted, but much like with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's DLC, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has reached the end of the road with its DLC. I was disappointed that some of my favorite courses didn't make the cut in the Booster Course Pass, but perhaps the next planned installment...
Well, when you think it over, when you look back at Mario Kart 7, there really isn't any real penalty for taking the off-road shortcut without a speed boost, all thanks to the glider ramp.
After looking at the artworks, it's not often that you see Ashley outside of her comfort zone. But I suppose her typical outfit is not meant for tropical environments.
I guess the reason why I was thinking Wii Rainbow Road was because the first half of the Booster Course Pass ended with 3DS Rainbow Road. Surely the second half should finish the same way as the first half.
Everybody from Mario Kart Wii has been accounted for now, but the presence of Wii Daisy Curcuit does mean major doubts about Wii Rainbow Road showing up.
It's probably safe to say that we'll get some information on Wave 6 of the Booster Course Pass. As for the courses that I'm predicting...

3DS Wario Shipyard
GBA Bowser Castle 4

Spiny Cup

Honestly, Vancouver Velocity's final lap BGM was what felt disappointing on my end, since it wasn't the 1.25x pitch increase that's used in the Mario Kart Tour version. In terms of characters, it still boggles my mind that Wiggler is categorized as a medium body frame character; that smaller...
Petey Piranha: Same stats as Metal Mario, but a large body frame.
Wiggler: Same stats as Waluigi, but a medium body frame.
Kind of a curious situation if you asked me.
It's actually interesting to point out that Wiggler has yet to appear in Mario Kart Tour. But considering that just about everything in the Booster Course Pass is from that very game, it's only a matter of time until Wiggler is in it.
Recently I came across an article that ranked the 13 movies that Illumination had released from worst to best. The Super Mario Bros. Movie ended up being ranked the 6th worst (ranked 8 of 13) Illumination movie (lower than The Lorax surprisingly) on that article.

You know, after looking back at the movie, there's actually a bit of an oversight with the Koopa General's voice work. Despite wearing a winged spiny shell, he ends up saying "blue shell" before transforming. Scott Menville probably didn't get the memo that the blue shell is actually a power-up...
I probably should've mentioned this sooner, but the training course that Mario had to complete may be referencing Kid Icarus; in that game, you could go through multiple Game Overs just trying to complete the very first level.
The problem with Nitro-Fueled's part diversity is the fact that it's merely aesthetic. Also, the stat spreads are limited to only five different driving styles, with only two of them actually being viable; Balanced, Acceleration, and Turn are practically garbage when compared to Speed and Drift...
Acceleration and mini-turbo are still stats that need to be taken into account. But even before the stats buffs were implemented, the Biddybuggy and Mr. Scooty were already slower in all speed categories than the likes of the Standard Bike, Flame Rider, and Wild Wiggler.
And in terms of the...
Yeah I really don't see Princess Peach's video game incarnation adapting her movie counterpart's personality. After all, in the movie, she pretty much has to be a strong and serious person, considering how massive her responsibility is as a princess.
Basically, every character with a weight value below 8 received a small buff to their speed statistics. This doesn't necessarily end the Waluigi pandemic completely, but it does try to add more diversity to the competitive scene.
After seeing the stat buffs that those with a weight value below 8 have received, it's actually worth noting that only weight and traction can go down to 3/24 (0.75/6) for a minimum stat value. Also, mini-turbo can no longer go lower than 6/24 (1.5/6).
You know, one does have to ask why some of the vehicle combinations that are shown on Nintendo's official videos are NEVER used by the CPU. For an example, the most recent Booster Course Pass trailer shows Bowser using the Badwagon + Monster combo, but he never uses that combo when he's...
I might as well guess what courses might be in the final two waves...

Lately I've been thinking about the Super Mario Bros. Plumbing commercial, and how it may have been formed...
Perhaps after abandoning Foreman Spike's business, Mario and Luigi stumbled onto a home, where a woman was having major problems with her plumbing. The Mario Bros. answered her call...
I does ask the question on what the final two waves may offer us. Birdo's reveal was unexpected, seeing as the last new character we received was Champion's Tunic Link (who was merely a palette swap of Skyward Sword Link).
Some information on the next Booster Course Pass wave would be good to bring up, since there's reason to suggest that Piranha Plant Cove will be in the 4th wave.
Honestly, with the fact that friendly fire is active when doing team races, you might as well go back to free-for-all racing; you can be targeted by your own teammate's Spiny Shell, which never happens in Mario Kart Wii (where it targets the leading racer on the opposing team).
While technically part of the Donkey Kong series, it's rather sad that K. Rool and the Kremling Krew have fallen into obscurity. Heck, not counting the Smash Bros. series, K. Rool's last Mario spin-off appearance was Mario Super Sluggers (almost 15 years ago).
It's funny how people want certain parts to be nerfed in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and yet all that Nintendo did was add an invincibility statistic that affects how long your combo is invincible after taking damage. Sadly, the invincibility stat addition is the only thing that Nintendo can do without...
Now that I think about it, if Nintendo had the decency to give us a custom items feature, then it should also give us the ability to modify the CPU racers as well; the characters and vehicle parts anyway. As things stand right now, we can't do anything about it, as that's all hardcoded.
To be honest, the backlash over the game's handling would not have been quite as awful if it actually received more newcomers than just Rosalina and Pauline. And free updates don't exactly make up for the fact that we're talking about features that should've been in the base game since day 1.
I...

There is a bit of a bug with the Custom Items option though. Whenever a Spiny Shell is thrown, its icon does not appear on the minimap when playing with a customized item setup.
