I just got DMCV because it's on sale on Steam. So far it's awesome. The graphics are absurdly good and the combat is great. I think it will be one of my favorites of the year.
I did the multiple saves thing when I was a kid. Nowadays I only do it if I think there's a chance to miss something.
In Pokemon R/B/Y and G/S/C, I would save after every level up after losing progress due to not saving. In Leaf Green I would always save in a Pokecenter when reasonable and I...
The thing is, Sonic fans are going to see it no matter how good or bad any part of it is. It doesn't really matter a whole lot what they think. It's the people who aren't already fans that need to be sold. But yeah they really shit the bed either way.
Back in the day I was incredibly hyped for Mario Galaxy. I didn't have the ending spoiled or anything, but I was so hyped that I followed all the footage I could before launch and when it came out the only thing I could be disappointed by was the fact that I already knew pretty much all of the...
Thank you for the welcome! I really dig the atmosphere of these forums. Reminds me of ones I would go to back in the day. I've been lurking for a little bit and finally decided to join in. Looking forward to having some cool folks to talk about games and such with!
I've never played Professor Layton, but a Waluigi detective game sounds interesting. He's not exactly presented as a cunning character, so it would be funny to have a game that revolved around him being completely inept yet somehow solving the case through pure luck and absurdity.
There's rumors of a new Crash coming soon. I'm hopeful that developers will start to realize that people will buy platformers even if they don't have Mario in them.
I'm generalizing, there are some games with good stories but I don't know if I would call any great. Games have too many limitations as far as story goes. The biggest is that video games are repetitive, and so every event in the story needs to lead back to the main gameplay mechanics. In other...
I'd take it a step further, if you care about story then read a book or watch a movie. Video games don't have good stories. Period. Even the most praised video game stories have no depth at all.
That is a good point about the HD versions of BK/BT. But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the success of Crash and Spyro will result in more 3D platformers/collectathons. I would love a new Banjo, but I honestly don't have much faith in modern Rare to pull it off so I think a remake...
I know what you mean. I love discovering stuff like that about old games. So many things that have been long-lasting and iconic, like Mario's stache and hat exist for such simple reasons. The devs probably didn't even think twice about stuff like that at the time and when you play the game, you...
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.
Damn was this game good. I beat Sands of Time as a kid but dropped the series because I was too much of a little scrub to beat the first boss in the second game. Not sure if I want to go straight into Two Thrones or play something else first.
Okay, maybe it's not quite that convenient :p
There's both ends of the spectrum. Some people are addicted to staying as up-to-date as possible while others ride their machines for a decade with no issues aside from not attaining the absolute max setting on everything. You certainly don't need...
It was absolutely an advertisement. It's the same reason Conker was in although I think Bad Fur Day was still Twelve Tales at this time. I doubt he would have been included if they had known how vulgar his game would end up.
Kazooie actually could be considered a late addition. Hell, Banjo...
