Battle Mode is actually a short loop, and listening to the Title Screen for too long would likely drive someone insane. Regardless, there's a lot of people who like SMK's Rainbow Road, and even the composer said it was her favorite song she made up to that point, I believe.
I probably should've specified it as "story created by fans" instead of saying it in such a general way. Either you're talking about that or you think that the definition of fanfic is an "extremely bad, cringeworthy story". At least, that's usually everyone's definition of it.
I've been working...
I actually think the human characters were pretty neat, but in recent titles they seem... Unfitting, really.
Just look at Mark:
Now look at how he looks now:
He went from looking like an actual Mario character I'd see in a Mario game, to... that.
Still, I'd like to see the humans in the...
He sticks out like a sore thumb. That was actually my problem with Dimentio; you could tell he was obviously the main villain because he seemed so different from the rest, pretty much making the "reveal" pointless.
I said it was a fanfic. I never said it was a bad fanfic.
Heck, Mario & Luigi...
Every religion has it's own insane radical fundamentalists. It's the same thing as bad apples in fandoms. In fact, it's the same thing as a bad apple in any group in general. Nothing is completely good or bad; you can get close to being completely good, but there's always going to be at least...
Well, it's possible, but the idea that Mario and Luigi are unlikely heroes make sense, as they're plumbers. I understand there's pipes everywhere, and somebody probably has to fix or clean those, but it still seems rather odd that plumbers would be fighting the Sorcerer King to save a princess...
Well, keep in mind, it's just my headcanon. It's not really a theory or anything.
Although it's equally possible there's a Brooklyn in the Mushroom Kingdom, most of the stuff in the MK tends to be restricted to this sort of mixture between medieval and modern, while the Brooklyn seen in the...
I'm starting to wonder if Baby Luigi just counts as a completely separate character from Luigi to you. Also, keep in mind, you can play all of Super Mario 3D World as just Luigi, and the Luigi's Mansion games clearly prove that Luigi doesn't need Mario to support himself.
In fact, wasn't the...
To me, I've always thought that the Super Mario Bros. Super Show explanation, that Mario and Luigi were in Brooklyn, but were sucked into a pipe during the events of Mario Bros., and taken to an alternate dimension, which was the Mushroom World.
Honestly, I feel Yoshi's Island is a bit of an...
I would much rather that Luigi be a grown man who can support himself and be the posterboy of the franchise than a toddler who got kidnapped on his debut.
If that's the case, Super Mario Kart has some pretty good music too. It's title theme, the Battle Mode theme, and Rainbow Road are easily my favorites.
No wonder why a segment of the main theme was incorporated into MK8's.
nice
That's not aging terribly, that's just technical limitations. Do you expect voices in a game from 1992 on the SNES? Or a long list of different, individual tracks, when there likely wasn't enough room for more sprites for more tracks?
Even though I'm pretty sure it's possible voices...
That's because for whatever reason Nintendo tends to (from my observations) treat all the Koopalings as one character instead of seven; as a result, not a lot of personality is developed for each of them individually, meanwhile Bowser Jr. takes home the gold.
The entire reason my art thread exists is because I was using an actual mouse with MS Paint. Mousepads are far better, trust me.
Also, I recommend you use the line tool; that tends to give better results than drawing it by hand with the brush tool. And, if you can, I also suggest getting...
I think that ever since Sticker Star, most people are starting to fall in love with SPM. In terms of why so many fans of Super Paper Mario have been showing up... I'm not completely sure. It's possible it's because of coincidence or a variety of different reasons, but I can see why it's so strange.
Technically, Green Mario is an obscure character, because it's an already used "character" (It isn't exactly a character, but you can never be too sure. After all, wasn't Metal Mario originally a transformation?) that hasn't been used since.
He also doesn't mean replacing Luigi; he never said...
My life will not be complete until we get a Wario platformer with Waluigi and Boshi.
Sadly, Square Enix owns Boshi, so we're probably NEVER going to see him any time soon. Regardless, I wish that Nintendo would buy the rights for the SMRPG characters, since they're pretty much the only original...
I could understand Lost Levels and SPM, and I love Super Paper Mario to death.
but when you dis super mario kart,
that's just going too far
At least it's a game.
Which is exactly what Hotel Mario isn't.
Anyways, in my honest opinion, I can't really think of any Mario game I actually hate...
Hm, as a newbie to the forums (if my Goomba rank didn't say so) I haven't read very many threads here, especially not ones discussing Sunshine, so most of my opinions are based off Youtube comments (which is a terrible idea in and of itself) and not off the posts here.
Nevertheless, I'm still...
How dare you. F.L.U.D.D. is my waifu, and she's the most attractive Mario character of all time. I am certainly offended that you would denounce such a beautiful back-mounted machine as less than a living being, to call her a character. Shameless. I have lost all respect for you.
Jokes aside, I...
I don't know how we went from the likes of the Koopalings, who are clever, devious, and mischevious, and the Koopa Kids, to Bowser Jr. Feels like an insult to me.
I don't even understand the context of this sentence, unless you're saying all the other posts that clearly relate to the thread...
I can see the flamewar on the horizon.
Honestly, I don't really hate any fanbase, because there's no more of a reason to hate a fanbase than to like it. Like many have said before, there's always an extremely obnoxious or toxic part of a fanbase. Likewise, there's also always a good part to a...
... That's a lot of Yoshis.
I guess that when trying to make a large cast of characters for a Mario spinoff, different character variants and colors are usually what they target. Huh.
Huh, that would actually be pretty neat. Although, wouldn't they pretty much just be the same thing as Goombas? I couldn't imagine what kind of stats would change between a Galoomba and a Goomba...
It's ironic, since there are a lot of people who hate the game for being more dramatic than dark, which everyone thinks TTYD is in comparison. Regardless, I'm sure you didn't like the Super Mario Galaxy intro video, if that's the case. Honestly, I could agree.
Although, in most cases, the game...
Welcome to the boards! Although I don't recognize you (I tend not to go to places like DeviantArt, and I'm sure you know why) I'm sure we're all perfectly willing to see any of your future works.
Also, on an unrelated note, I think I'm one of the only people who doesn't dislike Daisy for her voice.
k
Just for clarification, this thread isn't for new enemies or characters to appear in new games; this thread is for old, obscure characters no longer used in the Mario franchise, for instance, Wart and Tatanga. Also, I'm sorry, but those enemies are hideously overpowered. I'm pretty sure you...
1. Do you want me to show you a whole list of all the gags and jokes re-used throughout the entire series? Mr. L isn't even the cream of the crop.
2. To be honest, I think it's a pretty cruel now that I think of it. I'm starting to wonder if Intelligent Systems actively dislikes Luigi.
3. I have...
Right, although at one point someone posted a few of their Gmod screenshots and another person who posted some of their own intentionally hideous artwork, but those were the first few pages, I believe, and I'm pretty sure the purpose of the thread has drastically changed over the course of time...
are you positive about that
I actually didn't discover the "Look at it!" thread until much later after I created this one. I'm not sure whether or not I should keep this up, or delete it and show all of my "art" there in one single post. Although, it's likely I'll just post here for the time...
Yes, I kind of assumed that was one of the reasons you actually disliked SPM as a whole. I can't criticize that, though, since TTYD's Bowser is a reason for why I don't like TTYD as a whole, either.
Really? I always saw people saying that Mario and Luigi was the better series. Although, I have...
I prefer Luigi being oddly brave over him being a liar, to be frank. In terms of Bowser, I'm not sure why I like SPM's so much; I guess I'm just odd like that, where I just like things for little to no reason. Or at least, there is a reason, I just don't know what.
I tend to value story a lot, and I find it annoying when things are just left completely unexplained.
I felt that the strongly out-of-character actions of Luigi, and the completely pointless-for-the-sake-of-humor Super Bowser Bros. parts were just to make Mario look better in comparison...
My first Mario game was Mario Party 8, which I played sometime during '07-'08, and maybe during '09, but after that I went into the typical mindset that Mario was childish and not my cup of tea.
Eventually I was reintroduced into the franchise by Paper Mario on the internet, and I've been...
- TTYD is a highly annoying, mario-pandering filled game with little redeeming qualities other than it's gameplay.
- SPM has a decent plot.
- Waluigi is far more worth calling an actual character than Mario and is the second best character in the franchise.
- Bowser's backstory needs to be...
Sometime last week or so, I was immensely bored, so I decided I'd go ahead and draw Waluigi. The result never came out right, so instead, I stopped trying to make an actually legitimate piece of artwork, and make the most horrendous thing I could think of. In the process, I decided I'd draw the...
