The Mario series in general was never really known for story. It was always about the gameplay. You just need to know what your goal is and do it. That's generally what Mario is about.
I see. Well, that's what I've always believed in. Hopefully, Nintendo will balance out the characters more. Although I doubt much will change. Oh well.
I think the Mario Party series should have just stuck with the original 6 characters: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Wario. I think one of the reasons why it fell down hill is because they're adding way too many unnecessary characters now. Daisy and Waluigi were good additions...
It does seem like Yoshi's voice is getting worse with each new game he's in. Personally, I miss his old voice. The one he had before Yoshi's Story came out.
As much as I love the Mario series. I do have to admit that they're overdoing it with the New Super Mario Bros. games. I really hope it doesn't turn into the next Call of Duty (though I doubt it will)
Personally, I like Daisy's new design better. The other one made her look too much like Peach. But then again, to be fair, Daisy's really not that much different from Peach anyway. She's suppose to be tomboyish, but she doesn't really do anything that Peach herself doesn't already do.
I'm really glad Nintendo's giving Rosalina some spotlight time. This could possibly be a sign of Rosalina's entry into the Mario cast, which I have no problem with =). :mario: :luigi:
Agreed. I actually love that about the Mario series and Nintendo games in general. Besides, you have less fans arguing and whining over voice acting *glares at the rabid Sonic fans*.
-More playable characters. Super Mario 3D World was a step in the right direction. I really hope Nintendo doesn't start limiting us to just Mario and Luigi again. I hope Nintendo starts using Peach alot more prominently. Same with Toad and Rosalina.
-The return of the Cape Feather. Heck, we got...
I agree with you there. The Super Mario Adventures comics were awesome and gave each character their own charm. And I loved the fact that Peach turned into an awesome badass in the comic and actually saves herself instead of waiting on Mario and Luigi.
Yeah, I honestly don't care if characters...
To me, Mario Party 4 was the last great Mario Party. Mario Party 5 was when the series started going downhill IMO. Mario Party 6 picked it back up a little bit. I would have enjoyed 7 more if not for the horrendous Bowser Time. Mario Party 8 wasn't that great and 9 just ruined the series IMO.
Well, to be fair, the Mario series has never been known for story or character development. It's always been known for its wonderfully colorful worlds, nice and fun characters (despite not having much personality traits) and the gameplay.
Agreed. Awesome and epic as Rainbow Road is, idk how I'd feel about having to race 5-6 Rainbow Roads in a row. It would get pretty boring and repetitive pretty fast.
I actually liked Snowflake Lake. There was a little bit of strategy behind it and if you play your cards right, your almost sure to win. I agree with you on Neon Heights though.
Items did play a huge role in helping you win, which is why the older Mario Parties were so much better. Mario Party DS actually did pretty well with toning down the luck factor. And being able to buy multiple items at a time was actually pretty cool. And the prices were much more reasonable...
I found Mario Parties 3, 4, and 6 to be the least luck-based out of all of them. At least that's what I think. Mario Party 9 went way too far with it though, even to the point where mini-games don't even matter. You can pretty much dominate every mini-game and still get screwed over all because...
If they do decide to reboot the series, I hope they make it alot more skill-based and more strategic. It's really annoying and stupid when you get screwed over by luck, which what the vast majority of Mario Party is.
In all honesty though, Luigi isn't that much different either aside from being somewhat cowardly (yet still heroic) and having slightly different attributes in Mario games. For the most part, he's just as underdeveloped and pretty much the same as Mario.
In terms of fan popularity yes. Which is kinda sad seeing as how Mario is suppose to be the main hero of the series. Yet both Luigi and Yoshi are 10x more popular
Yes, he did. But I just hope Nintendo doesn't go back to making Luigi a background character again. I'd like to see him in more games alongside Mario (I always thought that Mario and Luigi should be stars together rather than having one bro outshine the other).
Maybe she doesn't need one, but it would still be nice to see. But I do agree that Peach should be given more spotlight time in mainstream Mario games. I'm getting tired of the whole damsel-in-distress thing. It's way too overused.
I'm just glad that Luigi has been getting more spotlight time in mainstream games as of late. Now, I don't think Luigi should get another year dedicated to him (at least not until another 5 or 10 years), but I would love for him to start getting more roles as a mainstream character. Dream Team...
But anyway, I have some more:
-Mario is my favorite character in the series (most people tend to like Luigi and/or Yoshi more than Mario)
-Luigi is overrated (I love him too, but his fanbase drives me nuts)
-Donkey Kong is an awesome character (poor underrated guy. I really like him too)
-Wario...
Really? Because I see more Daisy love than anything. Ask anybody who they prefer between Peach and Daisy and I guarantee that most people will probably answer Daisy. Alot of people even go as far as to say that she should get her own game.
