This is kind of a known glitch. There are many ways to get the camera to lag behind, and this can indeed be used to softlock the game. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hRjnx_mmF8
However, I can't see the AI doing anything that would normally make the camera lag. Maybe the...
One thing I've also noticed is that some articles have a "See also" subsection, while some use the phrase "Related articles". The former appears to be more common. Should we remove all instances of "Related articles"?
I added the template on the Doki Doki Panic article before realizing it would be pretty silly to add it to all those Japan-only games, so I agree on that.
So you're saying that all these articles are properly titled and that, for instance, Mario Artist: Paint Studio's Japanese name only used...
Following Walkazo's contributions to the articles in Category:Articles with titles from other languages:
I think it might be worth digging through Category:Japan Only Games as well. Almost none of them have the anotherlanguage template. Although you might argue it is not needed for a...
I've changed Mario & Sonic from a disambiguation page to a redirect. Assuming this stands, I believe the article Mario & Sonic (series) should be moved to "Mario & Sonic", considering there is no need for the distinguisher anymore.
Granted, as far as I know there is no precedence for this, as...
Should we create separate articles for Super Mario's Wacky Worlds levels? I'd be more than willing to create them, but I'm not sure if that's something the wiki would benefit from.
I mean, some articles already include the original Japanese as well as the English translation in the introduction. I could have taken care of those, since no knowledge of Japanese is required for basically duplicating the information. I'll let you take care of it though.
Thanks for your work; it's much appreciated!
I was waiting for some input before going through that list (again!) and editing the articles so that they fit this new standard. Are you saying I shouldn't do that?
At the very least, I'm going to add translation tables to articles without one.
The Category "Articles with titles from other languages" includes many English-titled articles. I know it's policy to use English nouns when the Japanese name used an English loanword (instead of a romanization), but I suspect that some names are simply English translations of the official...
Names in other languages was the main offender, but there are others. Look at the proposed order, there are 6-7 sections fitting your description.
I'm not sure about snazzy header, you'll have to ask Walkazo.
Also, 'beta elements' should be changed as per recent policy.
I thought the...
Back in 2013, it came to my attention that many articles had inconsistent subsection capitalization and order. The policy is pretty clear in regards to capitalization: only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalized. Besides, I don't know if there has already been a massive effort to...
It's worth mentioning that this gamefaqs guide (http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/920192-mario-pinball-land/faqs/39250) mention the item (and actually describes what it does, as opposed to the other link). It's also called Red Yoshi Egg, interestingly.
Maybe using "reissue" instead of "remake", but except this it's great.
And for the rewording of the glitches articles' intros, maybe:
This is a list of glitches occuring in the game insert name. For a list of glitches occuring in the original insert name, see here.
I might as well post it here:
On the proposals page, Walkazo said we should add "For images of the Luigi character from the SMB movie, see [here], for images of Baby Luigi, see [here]." to the Luigi gallery (for example).
I agree.
Re: COLLABORATION: Image replace-a-thon 2010 of 2013
Isn't it possible to remove the background in the actual image and add a blue background in the article with some code? That way it would be the original quality, but still visible.
Can you provide a new link to your program? You linked to http://www.mariowiki.com/Transparent_Tester and it doesn't exist.
Also, I think this is kinda important.
I've been thinking: is it really important to distinguish ports, remakes, enhanced ports, re-releases, and enhanced re-releases? Couldn't we just say "reissue" or something? As much as I agree with your definitions, I think it's subjective.
I think this thread is partially redundant with this one. See Walkazo's post for further explanation about reissues.
By the way, I'm working on a major rewriting of the Remake article. See User:Banon/Work. I classed some of the reissues in categories, but it's still in progress.
I actually...
My proposal recently passed : MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive_34#Empty_sections_templates
The template is here : Template:Empty
The category is here Category:Pages with empty sections
Basically, when you see an article that has empty sections, you should add this template at the top of the page...
So the point of the sentence was that even in the South Korean version, they had a North Korean accent? Got it.
If not, we might as well add "In the german version, they have a german accent" in every article :p
The Gearmo article looks fine now. However, I have a question: do you think the "In the Korean version, they talk in a North Korean accent." sentence should stay? I haven't played the Korean version of the game, but it would seem logical that they speak korean, thus with an korean accent.
I agree. That would be a consistent standard, the only thing is that there would be variations. But of course that's fine, and that's still a standard.
Do you think we should also have a standard for the intros?
Something that states that every gallery must begin with "This page is a gallery of game or something different, but always the same.
Sometimes I see "This is the gallery of the game, game" or "This article is the list...
And as every other subsection, we should remove uppercases unless for the first word and proper nouns.
(I wasn't sure if that's what you meant by saying "also fix some of the bad section titles as well.")
If that's ever installed, it would also be neat to remove uppercases in subsections titles, as "Names in Other Languages", "In-Game Text", "References in Later Games".
We should just remove any link for those cartoons. See porplemontage's comment.
And yes, you're right, I will begin... by the beginning. I wanted to edit the most recent ones to avoid edit conflicts, buy you're right.
EDIT: There is the same problem for portrayals (e.g.: "2007" in the Bowser...
What should we do for protected pages like MarioWiki:Writing guideline, MarioWiki:Chronology, MarioWiki:Manual of Style, MarioWiki:Rules that have uppercases letters in their subsections (and sometimes in their titles)?
Full lists:

Category:MarioWiki Policy

A lot of articles link to the years subsection in the List of Mario games by date article using redirects. Of course, it's easier to type "2010" than "2010".
But our policy tell us not to use redirects.
So I create this collab thread to replace all the...
