Galaxy 2 was actually originally intended to be some sort of expanded edition of Galaxy, but eventually it got so big that they released it as a separate game. Probably for the better imo.

I'll agree that level 9 CPUs are not great and level 50 FPs (amiibo) serve as a much greater challenge. I've barely ever fought level 8's though so I can't compare them.

Galaxy is fantastic. I honestly slightly prefer Galaxy 2 though, and while it kind of is a huge expansion pack, I don't think that's a bad thing. The two are definitely my favorite Mario platformers ever. If these 35th anniversary remasters are real...well I'd mainly be looking forward to...
