Re: Mario Kart 8
This combo isn't good with respect to acceleration tiers. Cruiserweights take the most advantage of that setup.
Lightweights should be using Pipe Frame to maintain 3 acc while gaining speed.
Re: Mario Kart 8
So in MK7, there were, in terms of unique stats (excluding hidden for now):
-5 weight classes
-16 kart bodies
-10 tires
-2 gliders
Which is 1600 stat combos, with probably a few duplicates here or there
In MK8:
-7 weight classes
-6 karts/bikes/ATVs
-7 tires
-2 gliders
For...
Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants
Hey, 2/5 correct isn't so bad! And N64 RR looks so good, I'm fine there too.
EDIT: Whoever is saying Yoshi Valley is actually a new course - you're grasping at straws mate.
And done. I abused multiple Risk/Master (auto-charge any badge combo, 1/3 success rate) to get at least one Guard/Expert (it lets you survive at 1 HP for 3 turns, takes awhile to charge) and then copy them with Miracle/Expert (which costs way less). So once I had two Guard/Experts and I was...
Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants
That line of reasoning (they just have to reuse assets!!) seems a bit off to me, but it could happen. But, I don't see much anti-gravity use for TF... every retro is probably going to have at least one use of it.
(At the same time, no SMK...
Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants
It's hard to predict this stuff - GCN Dry Dry Desert is such an uninspired choice, and might the only GCN - but in terms of wants...
-GBA Ribbon Road or GBA Rainbow Road
-3DS Wario Shipyard
-GCN Bowser's Castle
-N64 Royal Raceway
-DS Tick...
^ I found this Giant oddly hard too, I think I barely had any health left. Have to learn how he volleys the chunk of rock to win that one.
Got Giant Bowser on the 3rd try tonight - I was able to guard the stomp twice finally!
The problem with Giant Bowser is it's an epic spectacle to watch...
Wooooooooooow Smashgoom. That's a terrible place to go, isn't the interface clunky and full of big smilies? Prompting dumb users to come.
The only forum that I find any good on this fandom is the one I'm on, the Round Stable Forums (formerly Ponygoons). Honestly, the chans are the next best...
I'm too lazy to look it up... probably something with Thousand-Year Door...
EDIT: OK, unlazified myself. Adding/correcting tech details on Ms. Mowz's moves. You can see my first flurry of contribs was really expanding what was barebones PM2 info at the time.
I got pissed off last night at Hard Mode Giant Bowser (so besides finishing up the final bosses and the regular Medley (no way I'm doing Giant X bosses, giant bosses are scripted battles anyways)). I had a sliver of health left and managed to fake-kill him with the regular star, and I was ready...
Does anyone here know if, when using Nunchuk/Wiimote combo, if waggle will still be the action for rolling in the game? Nunchuk controls were perfect except for the continuous barrel roll with Diddy, which was just a bit exhausting to do.
Hopefully the Gamepad controls are good also as a backup.
Re: Yoshi's Island 3DS
Obviously I am still going to get this game, but I admit that it looks like Artoon may have *bleep* the bed worse than DS so far. It's hard to fuck up a story in Mario since story barely matters, but this qualifies as one. Additionally, the method for unlocking the secret...
Ohai.
This finale was good, just not great. The series overall is lucky to be so talented in its animation, atmosphere / setting, voice acting, music etc., because the writing definitely dipped this season. Try again next season.
Partners unfortunately look dimmer & dimmer. Plot seems to harken back to original PM a bit as well. Oh well, at least the battle system has somewhat reverted
Count me as immediately sold once I saw the Baby Yoshis (didn't hear about this on 6/3 when this broke). This looks to be another nice romp with fresh power-ups.
It is interesting the GamePad player is super powerful on the platforms, a really easy mode with a good player there. Oh well, I...
^Yes.
^^There is so much effort put into it (EYES, crying scene(s)) that you get the idea she has PTSD or something. She feels like she's ridiculed by all.
Read It and Weep is kind of polarizing... visually it's very impressive, it's an interesting concept, but from a character standpoint... there isn't much development there.
So with the download option I definitely will pick this up, as I slurp up any :mario: ... but I am a bit concerned about Nintendo really relying on its cash cows in the wake of 3DS starting badly.
E3 will probably reassure me with Pikmin 3, but still
So hey, I just wanted to say that Hurricane Fluttershy is the best episode ever, and stuff. :yoshi: :posh:
I see there is some legitimate analysis in this thread, which is nice. I've migrated to to this nice serious board with strict rules to keep the icky part of the fandom out. Check it out...
I have no clue how "7" will work as an item, but at least it will somehow make the title of the game better.
Looking forward to Fire Flower, Leaf(!) and trying out Lakitu. Courses look really good too. 1st person view also looks cool.
In case it wasn't linked yet (probably has), this is the...
And 3 more characters, plus 8 max online. And dang VR coming back. And Waluigi Pinball. And tricking?
I have a feeling this game is going to lose a bit of quality trying to do too much old & new gimmicks, but online ensures a long playing time. Hopefully the fireballs replace a crappy item...
Anyone else completely bored by the launch lineup and waiting like me?
I'll wait until the first of Paper Mario, Mario Kart and Super Mario come out, unless something else good is announced first, thanks. :)
How happy neutral I am about this. I will be honest and say this is probably the right move, though, based on how I and others often feel about you. :posh:
