He was trying to pull off the "I only like tolerant religious people" thing, but he ended up going with "even tolerant religious people are hilariously stupid and believe all these wacky myths, can you believe it? At least they're willing to shut up about it, though!"
He shouldn't have come back. I liked Nostalgia Critic but crawling back to it after his other attempt failed is not exactly the most dignified thing to do. If he could pull off other things it would show that he's more versatile than just yelling about shit and possibly gain respect from people...
That only has one S.
Ah, humility.
Thanks, that's good to know. :)
I was homeschooled for a few years (kindergarten to third grade), it was pretty cool from what I remember.
I have ADHD and I fit in there, I guess. I've been told that I'm smart, but my grades are usually mediocre.
I went with agnostic but I don't really know what I am. I was raised Christian and I guess I believe in God but there's a lot of stuff in the Bible that doesn't really make any sense and I can't in good faith say I believe in it (or want to).
Re: Pirates of the Caribean 5 announced
No, because Star Wars is still well-liked, even if the prequels aren't. And people care about the new Star Wars movies, even if they're not sure it's a good idea.
Maybe you should rephrase it then because it's hard not to read that as you telling me that your ass is a very heavy form of autism, and it's making me laugh a lot more than it should.
I'm really quiet and usually spend my free time listening to/making music. I have no idea what group I'm in, I only know that I'm sure as fuck not a jock. That would imply some semblance of athletic talent (I ran cross-country for a few years in middle school, but that's it).
I don't know how...
Re: Pirates of the Caribean 5 announced
Did we really need another one?
I wonder if the people making this realize that, by producing sequel after pointless sequel, they slowly turn what was once widely loved into a franchise zombie nobody cares about.
I voted for 'nerd' before I saw nobody else was voting, and I thought about for five seconds and realized that they were right. Yeah, it's pretty shallow to try to group people in those categories.
Two people voted 'children having self-defense training.'
YES, THAT'S WHAT WE NEEDED, IF ONLY TINY CHILDREN KNEW HOW TO OPERATE A GUN AND USE MARTIAL ARTS, WE'D HAVE BEEN ALL RIGHT
So, based on the things you've said in earlier political discussions, you'd die to save someone else's life...
THREE CHEERS FOR VARIETY
Ten randomly selected songs I like.
"Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box" - Radiohead
"Beth/Rest" - Bon Iver
"Disturbance at the Heron House" - REM
"1969" - Boards of Canada
"Loomer" - My Bloody Valentine
"Risingson" - Massive Attack
"Tender" - Blur

On the one hand, it's sort of ironic that this guy who advocated gun rights so strongly got shot to death. But on the other hand, he was a human being with a family and a long life ahead of him, and it's awful and cruel and pointless that he died suddenly for no reason.
Re: The New Year's Thread
If the years of my life were Smashing Pumpkins albums, the first half of 2012 would be Zeitgeist (i.e. terrible with a few good moments), and the second half of 2012 would be Oceania (i.e. a massive step up but still not quite as good as past years/albums). Hopefully...
Agreed. I can't believe there's anybody coldhearted enough not to support at least some tougher gun control after the many, many shootings that have occurred this year.
I do think that autotune can and has been used well, and by talented artists, but that's a debate for another day- for the most part that article absolutely dead-on. Twenty years from now, when people think of music from the 2000s, they'll think Queens of the Stone Age, Arcade Fire, Gorillaz...
It has a song called "Fuck Time," though.
American Idiot was kinda fun. The title track is actually quite a good piece of political satire, though the band quickly proved that they didn't actually have much else to say about politics.
21st Century Breakdown is by far their most interesting...
Saw Life of Pi and Lincoln. Life of Pi was awesome but kind of messed up the point of the original book, and Lincoln was good but not exactly a fun watch.
what is wrong with you
saying 13 year olds are sexy is way fucking worse than a fully-grown woman who can bang whoever she wants sleeping with a fully-grown man
