Nvidia and AMD are the only graphics card manufacturers left, though I think Intel's integrated graphics also support multiple/extended displays. You'll need multiple ports, keep that in mind. You may need to use a VGA-to-insertformathere if your two monitors only support VGA.

I'm pretty sure that's not what splitter cables are for. You need a machine capable of CrossFire or Nvidia Surround, I'm afraid, and that requires a proper graphics card from AMD or Nvidia.
