It works in WALL-E because most of the movie is silent. You can't have a silent protagonist with everyone else talking around him. That would be weird. Plus we have a reason for WALL-E silence, he's a robot. But Mario's human, and if there are other humans in this movie talking but he isn't...
Mario's voice is so iconic I can't imagine them using someone else.
Daisy. I doubt she'd even be in the movie. You can't have too many characters that would serve no purpose in the story. She could be an extra or supporting character but I don't know what she could do.
The characters would be...
Re: Those characters are not appeared since Mario Super Sluggers.
Of course Diddy appears a lot. He's the second most important character in the DK series.
You got to realize at the time Luigi was created Miyamoto didn't care to give him a distinct look or personality. In fact Luigi's lean look wasn't even his idea!
It was just a coincidence that when Doki Doki Panic was to be made a Mario game that the character Lina (who was tall and jumped...
Here's the thing Mario is the main character right? Well in movies you have a protagonist. The movie centers around the protagonist, and we have to get an understanding of his or her plight. Otherwise its not really their movie. When you think about it in these Mario RPGs the story has little to...
Well than you can't have a Mario movie!
Characters need to have emotions and feelings in order for the audience to follow them.
If Mario is just a voiceless personalityless character no one is going to like him.
Its one thing in a video game, its another thing in a movie.
I suppose it would...
The thing about movie is it doesn't need a complex plot but it should deal with a lot of complex emotions.
The story as a whole could be about the first time Bowser kidnaps Peach (forget Partners in Time, he just does this as an adult) and the not-yet-heroes Mario Bros. are thrown in a...
It comes down to Nintendo not really caring. They care very little about unique characters and more about what the general public recognize. That's why we get Shy Guy as a playable character instead of General Guy from Paper Mario. Only Mario fans remember General Guy, and Nintendo doesn't care...
Well Toadette is better than Shy Guy or Boo or whatever. She's atleast an individual and not one of what could possibly a thousand others.
See that always bugs me with Nintendo is that they always confuse "character" with "species" and end up blurring the lines between them.
We have a Toad...
There's something I discovered about Nintendo it that developers need to get permission to use characters that were developed by other in-party companies.
This current Mario Party is being develpoed by Nd Cube, since they are making it directly for Nintendo, they are allowed to use the Mario...
I'd really love to see a Mario game where a Toad army is fighting along side Mario. You're platforming around and in the background you can see Toads fighting Koopas. That would be so epic!
Well I beat it and I can't say its anything that special. Just your typical 2D Mario but with a third dimension.
I liked it, but really its nothing that new to me.
I believe the character you play as should be silent but the characters around you should talk.
In a game where Mario isn't the star I'd like to see him speak.
I'm glad some people remember F-Zero needs more characters. Hey how about instead of adding more Mario characters we add more characters from franchises that don't have many at all.
Also has anyone mentioned Starfy yet?
So yeah I really don't think Mario needs more characters.
Mario's a blank slate. We don't know if he's like that or not.
Honestly, I like to imagine Mario has his faults. Being a perfect saint would make him an annoying Marty Stu. Accidentally eating Yoshi's cookies and then trying to cover it up in that way shows he makes mistakes but isn't a real jerk.
I knew Luigi was jealous of Mario, that seems in character to complain about not having a Luigi spaceship. But that stuff about facial hair... that's weird. Oh well the other characters seem to be portrayed quite nicely.
Anyone have a list of quotes from this game? I'm really curious about what each character has to say. I'm not going to buy the game for just that reason but I really want to know. Does anyone have anything like that yet?
Easy Mode on gets rid of the stocks. The game in its very essence is too complicated. Of course I can figure it out but I don't want to think too much when playing party games.
The Kremling are awesome and have way more personality than the Tiki Tak Tribe.
However that didn't stop me from loving this game to pieces!
I pray we'll see the Kremlings return someday.
This should be changed to "Wishlist" instead of predictions.

Diddy doesn't need Dixie! Why do you keep thinking he does? Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are a perfect pair already. Sheesh!
Also this game only features 13 Mario characters. While Mario Kart 7 has 16 characters. And I still think those 13 characters would have been a better roster than what we got.
One of the greatest appeals of Sonic Generations was being able to play levels from the past and present in two different ways.
I assume you could do that in this game too? Imagine playing a 2D Bob-omb Battlefield? Or a 3D Subcon?
Here's the thing. I was playing Mario games since I was four but I wasn't the avid Mario fan until Paper Mario came out.
Paper Mario allowed me to get immersed in Mario's world. (I had not played Mario RPG yet) after that I had to play every Mario game that I had missed out on over the years. I...
I can't say I'm crazy about the direction they are going with the Mario platformers. After Sunshine, I always wanted to explore a vast expansive Mushroom Kingdom full of happy citizens. But now it seems they want to make the games a linear course instead of an environment to freely roam.
Even...
Re: Fair Roster for futue Mario spinoffs? ☆Table update to Kart 7
Apparently everyone in this thread does. It actually is an interesting subject to boil down a formula for what characters matter in spinoffs.
Re: Fair Roster for futue Mario spinoffs? ☆Table update to Kart 7
How are DOnkey Kong and Wario "non-hero" characters. They play the hero all the time in their games.
Why does being a hero have any significance anyway?
No actually that's a 3D version of classic Mario. In a Mario Generations you'd have Modern Mario platforming in 3D, Classic Mario would be platforming in 2D.
Also classic Mario probably would look like this:
That's just a rumor, there's no confirmation on that. Also, I really hope it isn't true because I don't like Babies in games where there is already an adult version you can play as.
Basically I don't alternate versions of the same character Baby or Metal.
Re: Fair Roster for futue Mario spinoffs? ☆Table update to Kart 7
Why don't you think Wario and DK are top tier? They are in practically every Mario spinoff.
I think you have a very different idea what top tier means. To me it means characters that are very iconic/ important.
Wario and DK...
How about some power-ups based on the Mario Party 2 costumes hm?
Anchor = Pirate Mario
After grabbing the Anchor item Mario can now swing a sword to attack enemies or blocks in front of him. It also allows faster more controlled swimming in the water. It's like a combination of Raccoon Mario...
One thing you gotta know is that Miyamoto does not care about story or characters. His number 1 priority is gameplay. Its actually Kensuke Tanabe who writes all the Zelda stories. Miyamoto wishes Zelda was more like Mario and had no story. No lie.
Actually Wario and Waluigi were suggested by some developers to be playable in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Miyamoto was against it for some reason. I feel Miyamoto is holding developers back from doing really neat stuff in his Mario games.
