I don't think so, a bit understated maybe but their relationship is the whole reason why Mario sets off on his adventures. There's hardly anything "empty" about that, some of the deepest relationships don't require words. ;)
sorry to disagree mr. "mario fan"
The Perfect Run I actually beat on my second try. ..Which made it anti-climactic for me, since it was toted to be so difficult by people and it was over so quickly. Why am I so good at Mario... :'(
This is harder. Argh, I remember that took me forever to complete (also that leaf raft...
Definitely not, that would ruin the cute and friendly relationship they currently have going on. Besides, though it's heavily implied, the series has never explicitly stated that Mario is in love with Peach either. Bowser kidnapping Mario's wife just seems too weird, and then they have kids...
This thread just took a turn for the weird. :???:
Genetics aside, either interpretation makes sense in its own way depending on how you look at it. Donkey Kong (arcade) definitely needs some more love though.
I never got that. I've used the Virtual Boy for years and I never experienced any eyestrain whatsoever. At least, not any more than when playing any other video game (I take breaks at least every four hours). Either it's completely blown out of proportion or most nerds have weak eyes.
I know why they do it (I think everyone does at this point) but I still think it makes less sense. Anniversaries celebrate the beginning of things, not the "explosion" of things. My opinion stands.
If you are using "Big Bang" to refer to the start of something, that was Donkey Kong. Super Mario Bros. was a game that was desperately needed and came at the perfect time, saving home video games from becoming extinct. But, Donkey Kong sparked the series, and was also massively successful...
I always disliked how Yoshi's Island completely confuddled the Marios' Brooklyn backstory by saying they were born in the Mushroom Kingdom so I made up my own story to make sense of it.
Basically, Mario's father was a New York plumber who stumbled upon the Mushroom Kingdom while fixing some...
This always bothered me too, I'm glad someone made a thread about it. I recognize 1981 as the birth of Mario and we really should have celebrated his 30th anniversary in 2011 (I know I did, and his 25th in 2006). Now I know Super Mario Bros. is the most influential and iconic video game of all...
Well the dubious status of "Clawdia" as an official reference doesn't really surprise me as I've never seen any scans of the UK magazine in question. It would be great if we could get those but I guess it still wouldn't change much.
However, in my mind, the Koopalings will always be Bowser's...
Which one was worse? Neither.
Which one was better? SMG2 of course. But NSMB2 is still one of my favorite 3DS games and a superbly addictive 2D platformer. It isn't really fair to compare them.
Mario & Luigi Dream Team blew right by for me, like all AlphaDream games. I wish it was so much longer, but I guess there's always the Battle Ring.
Here's hoping Paper Jam is like Xenogears in length.
Sure thing paisanos! I'll be glad to help. I recently picked up a scanner from a thrift store and I'll have to see if it works, otherwise I'll just take some photos of the inside pages in the meantime. The Mario manga are great--there's a lot more out there than just Super Mario-kun! :mario...
Agreed, that's why I did this for another forum. I would be willing to update, revise and rewrite it a bit to accommodate this forum; I just don't want people straight on copying it, as I compiled the whole thing manually.
I just posted and ended up a Koopa Troopa--I believe the minimum for that is 50 posts (is there a Rank thread around here? Also not sure what Stars mean).
By the way, as was said earlier, this really isn't so much a General Discussion thread as it is a "How-Can-We-Improve-the-Wiki" Discussion...
BZZT! Wrong. Of course I know about that. I meant in actual calendar format. Today is June 30th? How do we know what Mario games were released on this date? That's what I'm talking about. You can't celebrate or recognize anniversaries in that simple year format.
I completed a list that...
It's fine once I get a working scanner (our printer scanner isn't working). I could take some inside photos of it too, if that's what you mean. By the way, while I wouldn't mind scanning some of my Mario-kun manga, is there a way to scan without stressing the binding? How do you folks do it...
Well in that case, we really need to work on the pages that are stubby. We could use more info on the Mario Bros. NEC-PC games, Super Mario no Sweater, Mobile Golf, Golf: US and Japan Course, and Mario Artist for starters. I really don't like how the Mario Artist games are combined into one...
Not sure if this thread is outdated, but I have about half the Mario-kun series among others, some of the Pika Pika series, a cart of Excitebike Bun Bun Mario Battle Stadium, and Mario no Photopi. I also have over 1000 Mario Quiz Cards which I've referenced more than once before. Can't believe...
Ever make an edit that you later end up regretting? I created the Super Mario Bros. Print World page some years back, which used to be rare but so obscure that no one knew of it so it was easy and inexpensive to obtain. Now sellers look for it on Google, find the Wiki page, and think it's...
Huh, I have some Mario manga too. Mainly working on completing Mario-kun right now.
Not all of it but most of it. A few of those are so rare that I can't find page images online anywhere.
Great collection, Σ paisano! Makes me want to snuggle up with it! :fancy:
Yep, I definitely know the 'tram. He's actually asked me to test things in my collection out for him before, not to mention there are many things I have that he doesn't own. Nightram focuses on the merchandise though...
Re: What amiibos do you own?
Yeah, I work at the Library of Congress right now. Why sell Mario stuff when I would just use the money to buy back the same Mario stuff I sold?
Of course! I currently own all Mario games save a few exceptions like All-Night Nippon, Super Mario no Sweater, Mario Bros. Special, and Mario Family. If you'd rather not wade through collection pics then I have my whole game collection cataloged here.
(While the game can readily be emulated...
I actually played through it and I do own the cellphone adapter (but that doesn't work anymore). It was a really fun game and would be nice to play on my imported Japanese NTT Mario 3DS.
I guess pretty much anyone who's missing from Mario Kart. But I particularly want Waluigi, Daisy, Birdo, Tiny Kong, Petey Piranha, Tanooki Mario, Baby Mario, Picross Mario, Metal Mario, and Paper Mario.
