It's a good thing I did that Mario Maker two-game pre-order deal. If eBay prices are any indication, that Mario 7-pin set is going to be hard to obtain otherwise.

I honestly don't like it. It's stiff and Mario looks like he's made of plastic. I prefer the original over this. Nonetheless, that's still quite a feat programming-wise.

While I began using the Wiki shortly after it was founded, I actually registered to make edits in 2007. MarioWiki is an amazing place and a compendium of vast Nintendo knowledge, with an active forum to boot, but themushroomkingdom.net is still my favorite place on the interwebs. :mario:

Not sure how I feel about this. It might be taking the role of the player "assuming Mario" a bit too far. I think a lot of charm and precision would be sacrificed by looking through a camera instead of seeing Mario jumping around. ..Nah, as fun as Yoshi's Safari was, I can't see this working.

Personally, I think Nintendo should return to their Super Mario Land IP. It was an ingenious little series and there are so many ideas there that they haven't been using. Call me Herman Smirch, but I would love to fight characters like Tatanga, Dragon Zamasu, Nyololins, and Hyoihoi again.

Probably my main unpopular opinion is that Mario is the best character in the series, better than Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, etc. Most people don't seem to realize it but Mario as a character has actually become extremely underrated. Luigi, as an example, is overrated; people think no one likes him...

Mario Pinball Land. Just...no. Fantastic idea ruined by a terrible, inexperienced developer. Even beautiful graphics can't save the game from its grating music, wonky physics, and humdrum gameplay. It's the only bad Mario game in my opinion (looking at you, Hotel Mario).

Does it really matter? I always think of Birdo as simply a retconned character. There's no sense in making sense of retconning, like how the Koopalings used to be Bowser's kids but they aren't anymore. Just go with what's currently canon.
