The Far Lands doesn't usually lag, but certain things like the movement of some mobs are messed up a bit, along with multiple other random things. Also after you go extremely far (X or Z value ±30,000,000 to be exact) the world generates fake chunks that you just fall through.

I've dropped mine quite a few times, but it hasn't been damaged because the case is pretty good. And no, I've never lost my grip on it while actually using it; all the times I dropped it were from tossing it around for no reason. I should probably stop doing that.
