For searchability reasons and to prevent any confusion, I will keep it under Hurt and Heal, since that is what it was classified as in the thread title. It still operated as a traditional Hurt and Heal even if the concept was similar
I was never implying they would be "always one-off", I just meant they were one-off at the time of that post. If more are created, my intent is to continue listing them in that section.
Small update - I have added a game spin-offs section for one-off games that tweak the rules of already-existing game types, as we have now had two of these recently with Marfia and Mend and Ruin. I had previously added the Marfia game under Vote to Win listed as "Marfia: Mario characters", but...
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this - the original migration thread was locked - but it looks like the character limit for posts has been lowered to an undetermined amount (or at least, the system isn't telling me what the limit is), which effectively broke this thread that I...
Alright, so there's a bit of a dilemma. To test out the new forum, I tried to edit the OP and got this error:
Seems like this is only occurring for the first post in the OP; the second one is fine. Regardless, it seems like the character limit's been chopped, so I may need to make a Winners...
Congratulations to Toadette for winning volume 16 of the Winners hurt and heal series!
Some mildly interesting stats - this is the third Winners game that Toadette has been in. She was previously in volumes 2 and 11, but didn't win. Third time's the charm, right? For that matter, Toad has also...
Yeah, I genuinely don’t know how we’re already at the next Winners game. Let’s just go for it, shall we?
A couple things I should mention first:
• As mentioned previously, I forgot to include Wario in the previous Winners game. Thus, he is included in this one instead.
• This past cycle of...
Oh okay, thanks for pointing that out. I'm very much out of the loop with most things on the forums these days, but I feel like the wording of the characters in that game could have been improved, as I wasn't the only one who assumed it was the live-action version competing in this game. There...
Congratulations to Mario (Lou Albano) for winning volume 15 of the Winners hurt and heal series!
So, here's something ironic....I realized a few days after posting this that Lou Albano wasn't even supposed to be in this game. For the first time in nearly 8 years of hosting these games, I...
Well, after a, erm, sudden activity surge in this forum board as of late, looks like it's already time for the 15th volume of the Winners Hurt and Heal!
help
Wait, what now? Time for another one of these already? That was honestly not as long as I thought itd be. I wouldve given it, like, 3 years at least. I blame this recent uptick in activity for the Elimination board. shakes fist
No, seriously - seven of these winners came from games that...
Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Hey all. It seems kind of counterintuitive to return to the forums just to give a proper goodbye, but lately, I've felt like I needed to give this place proper closure.
This place - and this community as a whole - were a huge part of...
Well, folks...it appears that after 6 and a half years of updating this thread and 74 pages in, I am going to have to make a second Winners thread, as I just hit the 25,000 character limit in the OP.
The link to the new thread is here. I reserved two posts in this one, and at the rate...
After 6 years of updating the last Winners thread, it has finally reached the 25,000 character limit, meaning that it can no longer be updated. For this thread, I reserved two posts instead of one, which should be more than enough now.
This thread will document the winners of all elimination...
I've been telling people that my favorite music video I've discovered this year is the one for "Genghis Khan" by Miike Snow, it has a really unique and charming story that could very well be the concept of an entire movie. Basically any video by the band Stepdad is hilarious, as well; they have...
As usual, another catch-up of games beaten since my last post in this thread:
Borderlands
Borderlands: Claptrap's Robot Revolution
Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx
Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Half-Life
Half-Life 2: Episode One...
peeks head in
Oh, this is finally over? nice.
Congratulations to Dr. Eggman for winning volume 14 of the Winners hurt and heal series!
Well, this Winners game holds the distinction of being the longest one to finish at a whopping 2 and a half months, but I can't say I'm remotely surprised...
The 14th edition of the Winners hurt and heals is up! From now on, I'm going to post them when we reach 10 character winners due to the huge decline in elimination game activity as of late.
Oh...hello!
Well, you may remember that I used to host these games every time the 24 most recent character-based elimination games finished. However, this time around, things have changed a lot. Due to the steep drop in activity for elimination games in general (evidenced by both the fact that...
Super Mario Galaxy 2
After 100%ing 3D World and beating Champion's Road (three times, in fact), I had the confidence to replay The Perfect Run, finally beating it after 6 years. Definitely one of my proudest gaming moments.
Changed my desktop background for the first time in 3 and a half years, to a beautiful coastal view in California.
Probably should have done it sooner, but I just got so comfortable with my previous one that I was resistant to changing it.
Haven't posted here for a year and a half, so I'm due for another catch-up:
Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
Borderlands 2: Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage
Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt
Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep...
Re: The Official Birthday Thread - RENOVATING - 21 - MCS - 27 - Tucayo
Thanks for the birthday wishes, folks, I appreciate it very much. Feels good to be a legal adult now and about to start college, wow.
When did I stop existing? :???:
After his eight-year long tenure of bestowing his fat upon the MarioWiki community, Packy has finally graced the public with his beautiful face. All my life leading up to this moment... has been worth it....every last second. I am truly blessed.
Thought I'd make a follow-up to my last post on this subject after having a day to mull it over.
The truth is, I didn't know Walky like most of these people seem to have known her, so this isn't affecting me in the same way it's affecting all of you. In fact, I barely knew her at all. My...
...Wow. I barely knew her and I don't really have words for this, but the fact that a user here actually passed away is seriously shocking. May she rest in peace, and my condolences to her family. Her contributions to this community will be fondly remembered.
It's extremely ironic and...
Nope. I was reading the GSN Wikipedia article, apparently this is the deal:
I think before they took Dawson's run off, they only showed it very early in the morning in the block of older game shows (like Match Game, Card Sharks, etc.)
I wonder that too sometimes, but then again I believe he hosted for the shortest amount of time out of any of the hosts (from 1999-2002, only 4 years). Maybe he just wasn't popular with the viewers or they don't have the license to show them. The only hosts I still see on GSN are Harvey...
Just reset the poll so more people can vote (and also so I could change my vote). I can easily say that Steve Harvey has become my favorite host now, it's not even a tie anymore. His antics are unmatched by any other Family Feud host and he has the most memorable moments among them.
Actually, both Culkin movies have a "ya filthy animal" phrase. The first one has "Keep the change, ya filthy animal" and the second one has "Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal". Both come from the Angels with Filthy Souls movies that Kevin isn't allowed to watch because of the gun violence, but...
Finally got a chance to watch Home Alone 5 today (the Holiday Heist), and during Christmas break 2014 I watched the 3rd and 4th, so now I've watched all of the Home Alone films. :) Now I can accurately judge the series and say that my favorite is still the second one. Not that I expected that to...
Just made a major overhaul to the OP - changed the title to "The Official Elimination Game Winners Thread" to correspond with the forum board better, added separate spoilers for each game type instead of combining certain types under one spoiler (plus sorted game types alphabetically), and fixed...

Electronic Super Joy: Groove City
Green Day: Rock Band

Re: The Official Birthday Thread - UPCOMING B-DAYS - 4 - 24 - Zero - 31 - Toad85
I figured I'd make a brief visit since my birthday is tomorrow :) That way I can accept birthday wishes if I receive any. But yikes! The thread title hasn't been updated since March. A mod should update that when...
Congratulations to Villager for winning volume 13 of the Winners hurt and heal series!
Gotta admit, from the start of this game I had a hunch Villager would win. He's turned out to be a very solid character and it's great to see Animal Crossing get some representation, both in Smash Bros. and...
Hello, ladies and gents, aaand welcome again to the next volume of the Winners series of Hurt and Heal games, where the winners of the 24 most recent character-based elimination games duke it out, leaving one victor standing! Ooh, volume 13 I sense an unlucky game about to happen.
Here are the...
Re: The Official Birthday Thread - UPCOMING B-DAYS - 18 - Dippy - 21 - MCS
Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. :) Had a pretty relaxing birthday, the main noteworthy things I received were some Mario wall decals and three games (The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Sonic Lost...
don't worry about it
I'm actually not online "almost every single day", I only log in to update the fad list and the winners thread. aside from that I haven't been here
Since I've last been here, I beat:
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
LIMBO
EDGE
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Gunpoint
The Stanley Parable
Nintendo Land
Guacamelee! Gold Edition
LEGO Rock Band
Hello everyone! I'm back temporarily, but I mainly just wanted to make an obligatory forum visit in time for my birthday tomorrow (would be rather awkward if I wasn't here to accept birthday wishes, wouldn't it?) and see what I've missed since I've been away. Hope you all have been doing well.
Just got 3 more challenges over the course of the past few weeks: Clear 100-Man Brawl with all characters, get 1,000 KOs in Brawls, and get 2,000 KOs in Brawls. For the first one, it eventually came down to Ganon, who was a pain to complete 100-Man Brawl with, but after enough practice I was...
