tl;dr, someone tried to get permission to make a Bubsy game and use Undertale music in a game, with different results.
Though there's also some more recent news. I contacted the creator of Ghoul School to look into making a remake of his game, and while he unfortunately doesn't own the rights...
That it is. It's pretty much just based on the orange from my older Paper Mario item sheet, though I'll probably try to edit it into an SMW berry or something.
Alright, now that I found another name that uses it, new question:
What exactly does ぢる mean? Both Ink Sauce and Sap Soup have it in their Japanese names, and while
the Sap Muffin article claims it means "soup", I'm pretty sure that's not the case since other
soup items use スープ.
one of these...
Does anyone know what "じれじれキノコカン" means?
It's the Japanese name of the Long-Last Shake, for the record.
Nevermind, I'm an idiot and misread じわじわ as じれじれ.
EDIT: Alright, the Japanese name for the Door Key in SPM is apparently "トビうのカギ". Anyone know what that means?
oh my god i can't tell the...
Welp. Not related to this thread in the slightest, but I'm hype enough that I'm gonna tell everyone here anyway. As of this month, both Toby Fox and Retroism (the company that currently owns the Bubsy IP) are aware of my studio's existence. How hype is that?
Also, to make up for the lack of...
First new item in a while:
Presenting the Mystery Mushroom, which will have a variety of possible effects during battle. It's kinda like the Mystery item, though it'll have a different set of random effects.
The last game I played was...
One of the games I'm developing. And before that, it was...
Another game I'm developing. :|
I feel like I should play more games.
Thanks!
I actually thought of making Paper Mario versions of Kirby enemies before, maybe I'll start on that tonight.
inb4 Paper Smash Run as a mode in the fangame
Andddddd slightly more complete Thorny:
Buzzy Beetle edits are mostly a placeholder until I'm less lazy.
(Also, if anyone's wondering why the shell's shinier than on the PM64 Spiny sprite, that's a redesign that'll apply to regular Spinies in this game as well, making them look a little more...
For the first time in over a month, here's the newest enemy in the game! It'll act sorta like a Buzzy Beetle, requiring several hits to defeat, and it'll turn into a Gloomba after its helmet breaks.
So, apologies for the lack of sprites for a while. My computer kinda started decaying, and I ended up having to get a new one.
Now then, back to our regular schedule.
Welp, I can't decide on a final design for the chapter 2 boss (and a lot of it will be fully 3D, so there won't be a lot of stuff to post here from it anyway), so here's an unfinished mini bob-omb:
Not sure if I'll make it a direct reference to the similar enemy from Super Mario RPG...
I finally return from a long period of working on a completely different game!
Anyways.
I'll have a sprite up for the Chapter 2 boss soon, so there's that.
There's the official art from the Cogdis website, which is probably the best reference I can find right now (seeing as how there's barely any fanart of the game).
I was away from the wiki for a bit, so I didn't know about this until today.
I had to reread the announcement a few times to actually comprehend that this happened. I don't have any words for this right now.
Maybe I'll think of something to say later...
So, not a sprite update (I'll have something in a bit though), but a question about the fangame in general:
Would anyone mind too much if I added a world map to make going between locations faster, or would that be too different from the "normal" Paper Mario style?
(note that it wouldn't...

"We worked hard so that this game would become the new standard for future Paper Mario games, so please play it to the fullest!"
It's pretty much confirmed to be a Sticker Star sequel. Stickers and Things return as cards, Bowser Tape returns, you don't get EXP after battle, etc.
Besides, Sticker Star was stated to be the permanent new direction for the series, so...
