I'm down for Daisy Dating Sim. The phrase itself even has a nice ring to it, like a tongue twister.
That honestly was Princess Peach Showtime, only without Daisy and a pixel art style.
Daisy just isn't enough of a standout character to get a game but she certainly can play as a close friend of Peach, where her energetic can-do personality contrasts with Peach's cautious and considerate (but not timid like Luigi) "let's not try to harm others" approach to things. Peach can get...
I think instead of adding new characters, if they really care about just recognizable characters and stick to them while making a couple clone characters after running out of resources, they should at least try to make each existing character stand out a lot better, like what Battle League...
Indeed you're not the only one who's voiced that issue with the presentation of these platformers. The closest thing we got to a truly 2.5D Mario in a Mario platformer would be the Super Mario 3D World parts of Super Mario Maker 2. I'll provide examples just to illustrate Nintendo has...
I consider "LeftyGreenMario" now a former name. Please call me "LeftyGemsMagpie" now, but you can still call me "Lefty" or "LGM" for short but starting today, please slowly try to wean off the original words behind "LGM".
Super Mario Bros. Wonder had a great badge to make swimming levels fun, and it make underwater enemies stompable. These two additions made underwater levels much more fun than I anticipated and they ended up being my favorite 2D Mario underwater levels.
So, I was disappointed Wonder then...
The game looks to be difficult again vs like Mario Kart, so that's nice. I also think the Cross Roads gimmick has some potential here to try to make each race feel a bit more different to each other, and I particularly like how there's an option to pick random. I'm hoping it doesn't 100% take...
The serious answer would be like, it's a photo to liven up the textbooks, make it inviting, and help students learn if the illustrations are cheerful enough. I just question its effectiveness if I just end up ridiculing it for being a farce, suggesting that doing homework is fun and not totally...
One thing I noticed growing up: Why are kids in school textbooks always photographed smiling while doing class activities??? It doesn't make me want to smile or do classwork more.
As a person who enjoyed these games alongside my sister, for its sense of speed and engaging (although sometimes frustrating) difficulty, I'm going to look forward to how this turns out. Still like the whole crossover fever dream appeal of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (for someone who...
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is probably my most played Mario game, largely due to the game having plenty of content, a fun enough Battle Mode (especially with the item switch, my favorite DLC of the game). Modding has only extended the life of this game.
Sprixie Princess is an addition I can't argue against inherently, but it is a recurring situation that most characters that debut in mainline platformers don't really make it past the first game they're in; even if they do, it can be a couple years for them to reappear. Rosalina for instance...
I think the bike from Mario Kart Wii does the star theme better (and Fawful comes off as a bike guy to me personally), but again, I'm a bike person.
The Banisher is my go-to kart to see the unholy ocean of the base of characters that aren't Toad or Dry Bones.
The POW block is easily countered by just spamming the trick button (or shaking the controller) once you see it on screen. You barely spin out and you lose zero speed. Banana is worse at messing up your racing IMO.
The worst POW block can do is make you lose your items... in a game that already...
I like the idea of fake item boxes that look identical from real ones from a distance but the closer you go, the more apparent it's fake. I thought those red ones were supposed to work that way, but I think it was still pretty obvious from a distance.
If they're going to return coins and then advertise they boost speed, wouldn't it make sense to program a toggleable speedometer to actually show how speed is modified from these coins, no? Why did they remove the speedometer since Mario Kart DS?
I don't think my point was made clear. The points here are not necessarily invalid but I think it's unfair to single out Paper Jam for a lack of continuity when such a thing is by design and a component of the Mario games. It doesn't necessarily make it fine and dandy that it's designed this...
My question was rhetorical. The primary complaint in the thread was about a lack of carry over to the next game when I counter that almost nothing carries over anyway, not even continuity very much, and it shouldn't be a point against Paper Jam.
As for Paper Jam's story, they salvaged it out of...
These games typically don't have the structure or even the slightest bit of developer consciousness to allow any real character development especially having these carry over to the next game. For instance, Superstar Saga had a moment where Luigi had to pretend to be Mario to try to rescue...
Another thing, I'm hoping kart parts are more customizable. Imagine if my frequently-used kart part, Mario, got some decor and body modifications (like in Mario Kart Live) to help accentuate the character I'll main. I haven't decided on a character yet (and how can we? we don't even know the...
Oh sure! I think I would like these rpg ocs a LOT more if they were given hammy voice acting. It would make them so much more quotable. Maybe my reading voice isn't that charismatic as I thought.
Like these Let's Players make the Legion of Stationery so much funnier, I keep imagining these...
There's not much really to comment on besides 24 simultaneous racers, the race track itself (which we've seen only barely), and the roster, which includes bikes again. Like, zero gameplay is revealed for now (we haven't even seen items). Hell, we don't even know who the characters are except for...
If I were a petty god I would probably just change most characters in any given video game roster to Mario and Mario variants barring Wario, Waluigi, and DK. They're cannon fodder.
Thanks for wishing us well! I'm in Bay Area, and it got pretty soaked from rains in December and November so I don't think we have as bad of a fire problem, if we do have one.
After the ending of Super Paper Mario, Count Bleck had been tried for war crimes (he may have restored the place with the Heart thing but ultimately the entire tribe was killed, several other characters were killed, and the widespread economic disruption and devastation were all reasons for...
This year wasn't particularly impressive to me regarding Mario games but Brothership seems neat. Haven't played it yet. The Mario vs DK remake and Jamboree provided decent fun and I'll be coming back to Jamboree later. Peach Showtime unfortunately seems more novelty than game which is a shame.
I just know we're pretty overdue for a sport of this caliber again but I'm not holding my breath for its return (also please return horse racing, even if it was Camelot's doing).
Hmm I might take back what I said a little bit.
It turns out the meshes (NOT TEXTURES, JUST THE MESH) from Brawl to Smash Ultimate are nearly mostly reused, save for additional polys. HOWEVER Smash Ultimate's Mario deviates the most from the original, mostly his hair having additional poly...
Given that all the human women are Peach variants, it wouldn't be a far stretch that some random baby human girl looks like Baby Peach and just so happens to share a name with a Peach variant.
Yeah, as SGoW said, it involves someone having to go out there and drop a package off (and Amazon is the reason post office workers work six days a week). During November and December, those packages balloon. Also, this contributes to traffic congestion and pollution, so if you do have the means...
