I remember you, too.
I did? Eh, at this point, I doubt anything would surprise me.
Oh, there's a name-changing thread? Pardon me...
Pleased to meet you, Nex and Star. :)
Hi everyone. Its been a while, and I thought Id stop by to see how all of you are doing. I dont know how the member makeup has changed on this forum since I left because you all change your user names every two minutes, but some of you may remember me as the freak who tried to put an end to...
I have two British guys in my ideal cast: comedy legend John Cleese for Kamek (whose star power could help sell the film and bolster Martinet's image) and Tom Hiddleston for Lakitu (whom you may know as Loki, Viking God of Trickery). If neither accepts my offer, *sigh,* I guess I'll look into...
Oh, no! I mean that bigtime celebs see him as a nobody. Martinet's achieved a sort of cult celebrity status among video game fans, and he's one of my inspirations for looking into voice acting as a fallback career.
Truth be told, star power won't matter to your primary audience... which is kids. All they'll care about is that the movie has the characters they like, and that the characters sound like they do in the games. If my movie succeeds, and (God willing) I get the game actors, I could turn Charles...
Yeah, I agree. Like DC Comics, SMF has essentially Ditched Continuity and placed all his focus on casting (he also is a little overly obsessed with Oldman). If his movie succeeds (and I doubt it will), we'll never see a crossover movie. :(
Hmm, you're right, I could see her passing off as a Disney Princess. All she'd have to add is that seductive, eyes-half-closed smile and she'd be in business...and so would Daisy, Rosalina, and Zelda.
That conflict was resolved a long time ago.
Again, we're not talking about your movie. This thread is a whole different kettle of fish, and as I've repeatedly warned you, Disney will probably not buy your screenplay after its trouble with the first one.
For the record, this thread has...
So he's basically gone on to being a game producer rather than being a game designer or director. That's interesting because he did once say that he doesn't see himself as anybody's boss (or even his own boss for that matter).
I see your reasoning. Super Mario Galaxy was probably the last time Nintendo did something innovative with the franchise. They took the routine plumber-rescuing-princess story we know and love and gave it the essence of a classic sci-fi movie. Since then, everything seems to be a sequel to...
Which everyone here would disagree with because you can't be on a Mario-themed site and hate what Nintendo does unless you've got an evil purpose brewing in your head.
I suppose so. Nintendo is in pretty bad shape since it doesn't make games for iThings, which have become all the rage (How much money has Rovio made off of Angry Birds anyway? It must be practically a billion-dollar franchise now).
Wait a minute, why is Nintendo disappointing you? What do...
Nor does Mario. I do wish that the Bros., Peach, Bowser, and all the rest would say more stuff in spoken dialogue. I don't care if dubbing over Japanese mouth movements is irregular; if it can be done in Super Mario Sunshine, it can be done in any game thereafter.
Thanks! My intent was partially to bring about good humor but mainly to hear all different viewpoints.
So, where are the other viewpoints? Please, talk amongst yourselves, but be courteous to other users!
This forum isn't about selling your screenplay, which I still doubt Disney will buy. This is a much broader issue we're dealing with: an entire game company being bought out wholly by an entertainment mogul, no exceptions.
Now that we're all armed and dangerous, maybe we should start singing Le Marsailles (the French national anthem, written during the French Revolution).
I loved that movie!!! I was the only guy in the theater to laugh when somebody said they needed Captain America "on the bridge" (I got the reference to the Star Trek line: "Captain, you are needed on the bridge!").
Disney has the Muppets, Pixar, and Marvel, so what would happen if they bought Nintendo? Would they ruin any game franchises? Would they save any game franchises? Can you see the future? Is there any way of knowing?
Here are two predictions told in parodies of Disney Songs:
