I'd love to see any of the classics return, but my all-time wishlist includes:
Tryclyde (no surprise there, huh?)
Cobrats
Sabasa the Witch
King Totomesu
Cackletta
Kammy Koopa
That's basically how I see it too. Just because the Blue Toad doesn't have glasses in the NSMB games doesn't mean he isn't the same, just different artistic depiction.
I definitely see Captain Toad as being the original Toad we all know and love, since he has the red cap (and hangs out with...
I got Mario Party 10 and the Toad amiibo today. I've only tested out MP10 briefly (my friends and I are having a "Mario Party party" later), but I have to say... amiibo party is dull as hell.
Re: Top 9 Mario RPG's
My ranking:
1 - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
2 - Paper Mario
3 - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
4 - Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
5 - Super Paper Mario
6 - Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
7 - Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
8 - Paper Mario: Sticker...
Blooper is pretty popular, and is a classic Mario enemy. Spike isn't very cute, nor was he in the original game. Hell, I'd take Chargin' Chuck over Spike.
At least with previous Bowser minions, they chose ones that people actually like (magikoopa, shy guy, blooper). I honestly can't think of anyone who would be excited that Spike is playable.
I was replaying Mario Party 4 and 6 today... 4 isn't nearly as bad as I remember it being. I didn't really like the complete randomness of the stages (like on the Koopa Troopa Beach stage, there was no way to tell if Ukiki was going to let you go up or down with the banana peel). It had some...
Any of 'em, but particularly:
Cackletta (very cool female villain)
Mallow
Geno
Shadow Sirens
Any of the partners from Paper Mario and Paper Mario: TTYD
Okay, so Toadette is playable too? That's pretty great... my dream Toad game had classic Mario-style with Toad as Player 1 and Toadette as Player 2. Nice to see her get some love in a non-sports/party game.
Also, love Wingo. She looks incredibly sassy for a bird.
I'd also prefer a Kid Icarus one... I'm not sure how good a Mario Warriors-type game would be. Kid Icarus has a lot of variety with its characters and abilities. And playable Medusa? Yes please!
I'd like to see again:
Tryclyde (whodathunk it)
Mouser
Cackletta (great villain... I really wish she'd return)
Shadow Sirens
Geno
Mallow
Tatanga and any of the Mario Land villains
Sabasa from Mario Land 2
Big Bertha
Birdo is transgendered, thus has a gender. :P
You must be reading something entirely different from what I am, as what supermariofan said made absolutely zero sense and did not pertain to being politically correct. Also, "overrelying" is not a word.
I've never really considered Luigi overrated... maybe nowadays after the Mario Kart 8 meme, but out of the dozens and dozens of people I've played Mario games, nobody's ever really picked Luigi except for in Smash Bros.
Yoshi is a lovable character but I wouldn't call him overrated. Many of my...
The character I was hoping for the most was Medusa from Kid Icarus. I'm hoping she'll make a "Villains DLC Pack" or something down the line. The game has no female villains. :(
Oye, I'm not a fan of that at all.
A lot of the appeal for me anyway is that it is a Mario game that takes place in the Mario World. I don't mind that they added Link or the Animal Crossing characters as DLC, but to have the game suddenly become "Super Smash Kart"? No thanks.
This was the game I was probably most excited to hear about during E3. I'm a huge Toad fan and for him to finally get his own game... I couldn't be happier. I really enjoyed the Captain Toad minigames in Super Mario 3D World, too.
I *love* the amount of villains in TTYD. I wish more Mario RPG-type games had such a large amount. Obviously not all of them are important, but I'd rather they have unique character designs for what could otherwise be faceless, nameless grunts.
