It's a sequel. It was built on the engine of the first game and added new mechanics, new levels, and took a new direction in art/music. I don't know what else you would expect from a sequel. Unless you dislike the first game I fail to see what's so problematic about the direct sequel being...
There's a show I haven't heard of in a while lol I remember watching it when it was just shorts that would play on Nickelodeon or Nicktoons, but I never saw an episode of the actual show.
I still see parallel universes out in the wild occasionally. I don't think it died, it's just a very niche meme. The demographic of people who like Super Mario 64 enough to seek out/enjoy the absurd amount of knowledge on it people like PannenKoek have is relatively small. People still comment...
How far did you get in Majora's Mask? Once you get the Ocarina the fairies tell you the four areas and the order to do them in. You go to the swamp first. One of the main appeals of MM is the sidequests because the clock and timeloop allowed the NPC's to have very specific routines and...
Nintendo backstabbed Wii U owners by making the Wii U :P
But yeah it was definitely not the Mario game of the generation that anyone was hoping for. A very fun and polished game, but not enough of a "main event." Odyssey is fantastic and really the sequel people have wanted since Sunshine. The...
Sure, but I think 3D World had fewer new power ups which IMO were less interesting and the level design was a lot closer to 3D Land than Galaxy 2's was to the first. Cat Mario and the Double Cherry don't do it for me as much as Rock Mario or having Yoshi in a mainline 3D game for the first time...
Strongly disagree with that. FLUDD's mechanics made Sunshine very distinct from Mario 64. 3D World was the same exact thing as 3D land but with co-op and cats. It's not like Sunshine to 64, it's like NSMBWii to the first NSMB.
3D world was pretty good. I wouldn't consider it part of the 64/Sunshine/Galaxy/Oddysey family, though. 3D Land/World are more of their own thing in my eyes. If anything I'd say they're closer to the 2D series.
The first Luigi's Mansion is great. The somewhat realistic art style really sets it apart from any other Mario game, even the other Luigi's Mansions. It's a short game, but that also makes it very replayable.
The Bombs should come out the front or back of the kart. TNT crates can be placed in bumpy areas or around ramps so that the victim or placed near a turn so that the victim must sacrifice their drift in order to remove it, or they can be held and upgraded. The items are more situational which is...
Mario Kart has the same stat types, though. They throw in a tier between light and normal, and normal and heavy but it certainly doesn't make much of a difference. The difference made by vehicle parts is minor enough to not affect much and I'd rather make a cool build without having to fret that...
"Even" the shitty ones? lol They're nearly all the shitty ones. CTR:NF is an awesome game, and honestly much better than Mario Kart, but the characters are one of the game's biggest weaknesses. The characters that were in Crash 1-3 are all solid but most of the other ones added are complete...
I love that Sunshine had a unique level themes unlike any Mario game, yet still had an overall theme connecting them. There was a harbor level, a hotel level, an amusement park level. All sharing the tropical island motif, yet with their own distinct look and feel. Nowadays we're lucky if we...
Galaxy's was a little bland, but it was colorful and had the iconic Mario font and it looked sort of spacey. The UI in Odyssey fits current trends, but it doesn't fit the themes of Odyssey in any way. They may as well have just put a plain number without the heart or bars if they're going to be...
Effort? come on now lol a new post would be on the front page of the forum. It's more effort to find where discussion on the last Direct ends and the new one begins.
Not to mention that the first post of a thread can contain the information about the Direct, links to the stream, etc. so it's...
Incineroar was probably the most controversial addition to the base roster. A lot of people didn't want him and a lot of people who did want another pokemon wanted Decidueye.
So what? Wario and Waluigi are still a duo, and they're both still Mario characters. The logo behind their percentage...
To be fair, shouldn't the mods just lock the thread when necessary? Or better yet, not have the thread at all and just make an official thread for individual directs? It's not like they're frequent enough that it would flood the board. This board seems to have a weird fetish for keeping...
Geno is the only one left who I REALLY want in. If they added him to Ultimate I would be satisfied forever. Other characters I'd like, but don't care as much about are Skull Kid, Travis Touchdown, Dixie Kong, and Crash Bandicoot. Doomguy would also be pretty rad.
I can understand that for SMB3 maybe. But come on now, How long does it take you to beat the first Super Mario Bros that you would need/want a save file? Not trying to be insulting or anything, it's just an incredibly short game.
Most of the time violence in media is
Because a child wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Kids aren't great at nuance. Controlling your language is part of being an adult. While swearing doesn't hurt anyone, that doesn't mean there aren't any sort of consequences to just running your...
The thing about piranha plant is that after 5 minutes the joke wears off and you're left with a slot that could have gone to a character literally anyone wanted.
What's immoral about it if you're buying the game anyways?
Well I haven't played the ports of SMBU or Tropical Freeze, but I played them both on the Wii U and had a great time. So if it's a big price difference I'd go with Wii U. Tropical Freeze is the better game, if you weren't planning on...
Why not just try them out on an emulator to see if you mind the differences?
I prefer the originals of thes NES/SNES games, but I've heard the GBA version of SMB3 is the best version. Wii U VC added all of the e-reader levels, which is a nice plus. Absolutely go SNES for SMW, as the GBA port...
I don't think there's any reason Mario would need to be more "mature." The only possible scenario where I would want that is if for some reason they made a game adaptation of the garbage live-action movie. In which case: go full on M.
Which one do you like the best? I used to favor 2, but after the remake I think I like 3 more. I could see having a bad taste in your mouth after EtD. That game was horribly rushed.
At least we got this gem from it:
That sounds like Pokemon lol
Devil Bottles was a scrapped game mode from Banjo Tooie where a second player would play as a devil-ghost of the recently deceased character Bottles and take control of any enemies in the game save for bosses. I think the original idea was that after killing Banjo...
