I'm digging the last idea there. So, we get an epic battle between the Koopa Kids and the Koopalings... and then we could put innocent people in the center of it - Mario and co. have to save 'em!
It seems like wherever the idea of a Super Mario anime series is brought up, people are really into it for the most part. As you all know, Nintendo already had a go with OVAs and movies (the Amada series and the Great Mission to Save Princess Peach respectively), but I've been thinking lately...
But wouldn't that enact the Grandfather Paradox... or something like it? Daisy is here in the present, so if you killed her in the past, wouldn't that erase her from all time? And would anyone care? (lol, just kidding, Daisy is one of my favorite characters b/c I think more female characters...
I'm going to go and speculate that Baby Daisy was added to the Mario Kart Wii roster so that there would be more female characters. Also, if they just retooled Baby Daisy's character models, they wouldn't have to work to hard, explaining why they didn't include Captain Syrup or Pauline. Either...
I'm so glad to see you get the position, Stooby! Now you get to have the fun experience of checking the sysop only board and seeing what awesome comments we wrote about you... and now you can also talk with us about the possible format changes! YAY!
Did I already mention this? Anyway, there might be some proposals about article formatting coming down the line in the near future. We should probably wait until after that passes (and after I have more time!!) to start work.
I'd be better with Mario, too, and it's way more important to the Wiki (comparing page views anyway). :D Lucky for us, huh? Also, there's the matter of the Donkey Kong Country cartoons, which I've only seen a few of, as compared to the Mario cartoons, most of which have in-depth synopsis-es...
Thanks, Stooben! I feel honored to have received such a call-out. :)
I just rewrote:
http://www.mariowiki.com/Salvador_Drainado
Yes, I do need how to make awesome links. But whatevs. :3 My favorite rewrite was Tetris DS, though, because it saved the article from being merged with Game...
Luigi had a ying-yang relation to Mario. While Mario was steadfast and jumped right into the fray, Luigi was cautious and watched out for his own neck much more. However, both were heroes. Luigi was the brainier of the two as well.
It's one of the connections that the video games have with...
I would actually like it if they just gave us one really good installment each system rather than several lackluster ones. (granted 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, and DS were all games I have fond memories of, I just never get to finish one before another comes out.)
Super Mario Bros. (series) would be good, but I would think that name would only apply to Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Kinda like how Super Mario World (series) would sound like an article on Super...
I was checking out our page for the Super Mario series (found at Mario (series) for those who don't know) and as much effort that has been put into it, I think it needs a makeover. Something about it just looks underdone, even though I can tell that it is not. First of all, I think we need to...
Can't help you there -- I don't know much about unofficial games. However, you might enjoy Super Mario World. You had four different Yoshies Mario could ride that had different powers. From your description, the game you are looking for was a combination of SMW with a few Super Mario Land...
I'm pretty sure they could add a few more in instead of the babies... like Pauline or Stanley for instance... they could reach into Paper Mario's partners and hit up Vivian... E. Gadd would be good, Toadsworth, Popple, and then of course there's Boshi, that would be an easy character for them to...
There's actually another thread that didn't start, but became a discussion of personal views of canon. This thread is strictly for discussion of how the Wiki can avoid using a canon policy in light of Nintendo's lack of canon.
I'm trying to remember where, but I swear there has been an official comment about the fact that Nintendo purposely isn't over-specifying the events of the Mario series, because it would limit the scenarios they put Mario in (being a doctor for instance, playing random sports, changing locations...
Yeah, I'd be fine with that. There are many ways you can write in order to side-step plotholes that range from listing out events to literally pointing out the problem. Honestly I think we'd be better off if we dropped the whole canon thing altogether. I think it was Blitzwing who once...
You're going to have to ask Knife about the policy in question, Ghost Jam. If I remember it was some flimsily written thing made from a proposal. Anyway, we were discussing something and he brought that up as evidence against me, so I just trusted him that it was valid. If you really want to...
Ghost Jam: as far as specifics go regarding what I've said on this post, I really wish you'd asked it earlier (well, earlier than 3 months after my last post), because I'm not remembering the specific things you refering to. I'll do my best though.
Ya, rlly, because now you gotta make sure people don't catch you editing the Wiki with one of those ads on the page. Ugh! It used to be an innocent Wiki to view... x.x
You gotta be kidding me... I get these ads all the time. "Sexy chicas!" with her fricking butt just sitting there with a string between her cheeks. A woman pulling her thong off from behind. Need I go on? Am I the only on who finds that wrong? I really don't care what any of you guys who...
I was thinking the other day, maybe there's a better way to do the character articles. It seems like the emphasis is all on storyline infromation, and stuff like actual history is ignored. But, I don't just want to rehash the games again by listing 'em out, saying what new character...
Actually, I was using that Wikipedia article as well! Weird how two people can view the same info differently. Can you give me specific episodes, writing, etc. that points out their ages? I'm not too familiar with the AofSMB3.
Luigi says in that episode: "We're lost in this cockamanie (sp?) castle again!"
Key word: again. More support for their being events not shown in the Super Show -- Super Mario Bros. World x-4 anyone?
UPDATE: The exact line from Momma is that Bowser, "is still a bachelor!" By definition, a...
The thing with the Koopalings is that they were created before Nintendo gave them official names, right? I would call that a retcon rather than a contradiction, just because we're talking about a player's guide here and I don't think actual game material made it official until the release of...
Crrrrazy! It works. The thing is, I don't feel that little contradictions here and there really constistute anything... retconning at most, but certainly, a little inconsistency isn't enough to take an entire series out of a continuity. I mean, Luigi's Mansion killed off Bowser inexplicibly...
I know one of the big arguements against the show is that the characters or events never effect the games... here's a few examples that disproves the theory:
Characters and Items that First Appeared:
Baby Mario -- Toddler Terrors of Time Travel (if I remebered the title)
Baby Luigi -- same
Baby...
I always figured that the Marios originally were real worlders (hense the Italian bit), then the parents moved to Mushroom World, then back to the Real World. But: it's a can of worms we really shouldn't open. I think it would be fine to point out that they live in the real world and ignore...
That does make sense, and I do find the fact that a theory like that can be reduced to very little speculation a little wild... maybe it's that whole Miyamoto leaving the continuity open... I can't believe that's actually worked so far!
The only thing you really speculate about was the reason...
Here's my view on this: we all have a personal canon we use to explain the bits and pieces of the story we have been given. I don't feel that we have the right to, for whatever reason, exclude parts of this story because we feel a certain way about it. That's point-of-view. It is not up to us...
Can we please try to get this over with quick? I'm finding more and more things that are explained when the games and TV show are looked at in conjunction: the enigmatic Super Mario 64 official players guide comment and Mario quote from Mario's Time Machine that Mario was once a Brooklynite...
Well, if you know nothing, you really shouldn't be in on this conversation, but I think you do know some stuff. But... if you want to make me make this discussion open to everyone, all I can do is direct you guys to YouTube videos of the show. The only way you can really know about the show...
I still have no idea why this gets people angry. How much do you know about the TV series. After you tell me that, I'll know how much explaining I need to do.
MegaMario: there's a rough version of a rewrite I was doing to Mario's article. I added the TV and comics in to see how it would look... so you can actually see it. It's at User:Stumpers/Archive_1
Uniju: it's really not for us to decide, so I was thinking, why not put the information where it belongs in the timeline... and people like you can read over it, while people who see it as part of the continuity can read it.
That was a dumb subject. Whatever. :P The thing is this:
I recently found out that the DiC cartoons try to fit themselves in the timeline somewhere around SMB1, 3, and SMW. So, the question is, would it be okay if I popped information about the occurances in those shows in their appropriate...
I'm voting Luigi because he keeps the B-down move that Mario lost, so he's the most different of the clone characters you have there. Good luck with your data.
