Kevin Rudd literally made Australia the only fucking country in the world to not experience the global recession because of his leadership in passing stimulus. To oust him because of a silly carbon tax and boatpeople is beyond ridiculous. The only logical explanation for this is if Australia is...
Also, Tony Abbott is an old saggy wrinkly disgusting misogynist who said of a younger MP candidate that she had "sex appeal". Eww. Unprofessional and grotesque. It would honestly not surprise me if sexual harassment allegations came out agains Abbott, he is the type definitely.
OK, and I haven't seen you since about then, hence my question "Are you still a troll?" is completely fair. Because you were. At one time, at least. I have no idea if you're one now, but you're certainly acting like it.
I'm three quarters Portuguese and one quarter East African, but I look very black and I do experience racism. It was especially rampant in Australia, it's like the 1950s over there.
I /do/ know from experience because I was called a wog when I vacationed in Australia. Also, I lived in the Deep South for 3 years, and I experienced similar racism.
Well, what is provocative is itself very subjective. Hunting to some is provocative because it's the senseless killing of animals for sport. To other people hunting is inoffensive because it's a part of their culture. So I'd rather take out the subjectivity and let hobby flaming go.
Let me put it this way: if someone said "gay people are evil", you would call him a bigot right? In many ways this is an ad hominem attack on his character (an attack that may very well be true), but an insult nonetheless.
And an insult based on something that is his choice "to be prejudiced...
Well I would disagree and I would say that the vast majority of political advertising is negative and ad hominem, precisely because ad hominem is an effective rhetorical device.
Edit: on redneck, the term has evolved considerably since it's orginal meaning and has now been expanded to:
I believe what nsymon was getting at was making fun of someone for their hobbies, which I think is fine
For example: "you like hunting, who are you some redneck jackass?"
That's a rhetorical tool used to spice up an argument against hunting
Making fun of someone for something they can't...
The lines are blurred between insulting and debating. Sometimes ad hominem is used as a rhetorical tool. Insults add to the quality of the forum and to the discussion and are in many cases quite funny IMO.
Tony Abbot is a fucking dumbshit who I wouldn't trust buttering my fucking toast, let alone be Australia's head of state chief legislator. The only explanation I can think of for the election of Abbot is the pervasive racism in Australia. Of course all Australians aren't racist but the problem...
Well I was going to end my campaign anyway because like I said I'm in the minority and something this trivial isn't worth annoying everyone about. I will say though that a scenario where a user asks for advice on topics that are inappropriate to address here is completely plausible and the forum...
The mixing drugs thing was a (bad) hypothetical I was using to illustrate my point that even if you make the scope of the Help Desk broadish the questions that are allowed to be asked should still fall within some basic parameters, parameters not yet strictly defined.
By very nature the QandA...
That's not the point. Sure a plethora of topics are discussed here, but for the Help discussion to be for "help in general" seems a *little* silly to me. Still, far be it me to judge as it appears I'm in the minority.
The word of god is to keep the Help Desk as it is, so that's obviously not going to change, I was simply disputing the notion that the Help Desk could be used for anything.
Edit: Also, I think it's weird that something so specific like a forum for the MarioWiki would end up encompassing...
My point is that rules should be rigorous and so it's a bad idea to say "anything goes" and then when something comes up that's clearly bad, just delete/lock it on an ad libitum basis, without citing a rule.
Bizarre Help Requests
Since when did the help subforum become a platform to request help on, well, everything? I thought the help subforum was to ask questions about the forum, not about problems with your Playstation, or whether you can take certain prescription medications together
When I looked up MarioWiki in Userpedia, I found some pretty weird shit, and I'd like to ask anybody with any type of authority on Userpedia why it's there.
The things I find strange are bolded.
Essentially, what I'm asking is why do the authors of this article think the MarioWiki is a place?
Because we talked about how Christianity frowns upon homosexuality before, I'd like to point something out to Dr. Javelin:
They guy who plays Gandalf is gay. :P
