With 234 playable characters, I don't think it's the roster that's disappointing.

I love the SPM musical by that guy, especially the ultimate show and It's showtime, Champion of Destruction and the Mr L song are awesome too. Mimi, O'Chunks, and Nastasia are good.

I personally love the game, I can understand the criticism it gets, I personally thought Super Dimentio was too easy for a final world ending boss, but I love the characters and Story especially Dimentio. Overall I think the Game is great, but I can understand why others don't feel the same way.

Probably because the Stories are pretty self contained, I'm sure you could name a bunch of inter-game references, but the mario series usually doesn't do sequels.

I'm kind of on the fence regarding this, I really like the Paper games such as color splash (3D) but I also like the New super mario series (2D) and one of my favorites, SPM, is a mix of both, Mario is Mario, and Mario is fun.
