You know, the world edition (or the edition sold for the Middle East and Southeast Asia). It has a green, blue, and gray logo on the back and is missing the ESRB rating.

I bought this game off Amazon last week, and it arrived today, but they sent me the world edition which didn't work on my new switch. I'm very sad right now.

I would say, if you were completely new to RPGs and had never played one before, you should start with Paper Mario 64. (Or Superstar Saga)
