Even so, seeing as the game's release is only four months away, most (if not all) the footage that's been shown so far is clearly indicative of what the final product is going to be, and I'm not the least bit impressed. The paint gimmick aside, everything about this game, from its flaws in the...
Fair enough. Technically speaking, it isn't a port, but there's hardly anything about the two that stand out from one another. That's the point I was trying to make.
Yep. Just as I've been saying since three months ago, this game is shaping up to be nothing more than a mere port and reskin of Sticker Star. How or why Intelligent Systems thought it was a good idea to to just totally disregard everything else and focus solely on elements from the game that 90%...
People hate it, because it's clearly nothing more than a Sticker Star rehash with a new coating of paint (no pun intended). If Miyamoto is responsible for this, then it further proves how much of a hypocrite he is. He came down on the Sticker Star prototype, dismissing it as a mere "port of the...
Graphic-wise, this game looks pretty decent. As of this moment, that's the only positive thing I have to say about it. Otherwise, Sticker Star Version 2.0 is all I'm seeing, here. There is absolutely nothing about this trailer which shows even the slightest indication that the series will ever...
That's pretty much what it would be. The fact that the game even exists in the first place is already enough of an insult in and of itself without something like that happening, even if Magikrazy's post was a joke.
I have little doubt that the game is going to, at the very least, excel in the gameplay department, so that's the least of my worries. It's everything that else that concerns me. I want to look forward to this game, I'd like for it to be worth playing, I really do, but I'm just not seeing...
I'm not saying that they have to shoehorn in every character, but I'd sure as hell like it if they showed some indication that the past three Paper Mario games mattered in some way, shape, or form, which they've done absolutely none of so far, besides acknowledging the fact that Paper Bowser's...
Considering how long the U.S. release date for Yoshi's Wooly World was in comparison to everywhere else, I wouldn't put it past them to do the same with Paper Jam.
Either way, it makes little difference to me. I've already said earlier on that I wouldn't be getting this trash when it hits store...
Not quite. The RPGs, for the most part, are what kept me interested in the series after all the repetitiveness that was going on in the platformers. Then Sticker Star came along and showed a complete and total disregard for everything that the past sixteen years (at the time) of RPG installments...
I love all three games, and I personally consider them all to be masterpieces in their own right. I consider all of them, including Super Paper Mario, to be the glory days of the RPG series before Sticker Star came along and ruined everything.
At the risk of echoing others in this thread, it would be nice to see cameos from past partners, however unlikely that may be, given all the Sticker Star pandering. Another thing I'd like to see is what became of Antasma, exactly. With any luck, assuming he's still alive, there'll be some sort...
I've been kind of busy over the months, which has limited my activity a bit. Now that I have more free time on my hands, I'll see what I can do to be more active again.
Not exactly. I don't mind the fact that it contains Sticker Star elements. What I do mind, however, is the fact that they only paid attention to that game on the Paper Mario side of things, and ignored all the other games that came before it.
Fair enough. I hold no grudge against you, either...
So far, I'm disappointed. This game looks to be little more than a bunch of Sticker Star pandering. I'm sick of the way they continue to pay homage to that game, ignoring all the others in the process (despite it being the game that most people want to forget existed, due to the way it...
Acclaimed games that I dislike? Mega Man 2, Sonic Colors (Wii), and Sonic Generations (console/PC). Every one of those games are the very definition of "overrated". Earthbound also gets an honorable mention, but I'm not as biased against that game as I am with the other three I've listed.
Re: Top 9 Mario RPG's
I've never been very good at these kinds of lists, but I'll give this a shot anyway.
1. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door = Super Paper Mario
2. Paper Mario
3. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
4. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
5. Mario & Luigi: Dream...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again... As of this point, the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series is dead to me, plain and simple. While I did disagree with the formula change for the most part, I actually enjoyed the second game to some degree. Then after that, they just continued to milk that...
My reaction to who the final boss isn't?
My reaction to the battle itself?
I'm definitely in agreement about that being a pretty underwhelming final battle, but it could have been worse, I guess.
I'm sure most people around here are well-aware of my opinion on him by now, but I find Bowser to be extremely overrated. I'm not saying that he doesn't have any redeeming qualities, I just don't think he's what most people make him out to be.
Actually, the Donkey Kong series is pretty popular in Japan. Donkey Kong 64 and the TV series, in particular, were more well-received over there than they were in any other country.
