Favorite Starter Pokemon

Just curious. Which starter Pokemon do you guys like or choose? Me, I usually choose the water or grass starters so I can have someone capable of learning Surf or Cut.

My first game was Platinum (I know, right), and I wanted a Turtwig. Badly. But I clumsily mispressed a sequence of buttons, and next thing I knew, I had a PIPLUP! A stinkin' penguin thing! But I kept it, for some reason. And now my Lvl. 100 Empoleon thanks me.
