Kazumi Totaka's Song

I have no idea where to put this thread. It's got something to do with Console Gaming, Handheld Gaming and The Marioverse. ._.'

Uh, anyway, Totaka's Song, if you haven't heard of it, is this little 19 note tune hidden in many of the Nintendo games with music composed by Kazumi Totaka. There are good videos about it on YouTube if you want to learn more/ see where to find it. Also see his Wikipedia article.

It hasn't been found in some games Totaka has worked on, so some people are searching for it in those games.

All Mario-related games the song has been discovered in (in alphabetical order):

1. Luigi's Mansion (Wait 3 mins 30 secs on the screen before training mode that shows the controls for the Poltergust 3000)
2. Mario Paint (Click the "O" on the title screen – easiest-to-find instance of the song in any game)
3. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Wait 2 mins 30 secs on Game Over screen)
4. Virtual Boy Wario Land (Wait 1 min 15 secs on the end screen after the credits)
5. Yoshi Touch & Go (Wait 3 mins 45 secs at a mountainous area with clouds being blown away in Marathon Mode)
6. Yoshi's Story (Wait 2 mins 10 secs on the Trial Mode or Select Yoshi screens)

Totaka also did music in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but the song has not yet been discovered.

My favorite version of the song is probably the Luigi's Mansion one. The music just suddenly changes to this funky music or something and them Totaka's Song plays. Here's a shortened version of the song that focuses on the secret part.

You're right and wrong. Yes, when you have 20 of each Pikmin they sing a song, but it's not Totaka's song. It's in the game, though; when you complete a cave by collecting all the treasures, when the "CAVE COMPLETE!" message appears, wait on that screen for a while (I forget exactly how long) and it will play.

They also think it's in Brawl, too, since Totaka worked on that game a bit. But Brawl is such an extensive game that we may never find the song.
