I was contemplating whether or not to make this topic, since ther hasn't been a trailer for this movie (as far as I know of), but I've been dying to talk about it, so...
Wreck-it Ralph is one of those "troubled history" movies, one that's gone through a number of changes over the years. Originally it was called "Joe Jump" and "Reboot Ralph", and was scheduled for release March 22, 2012. Now it's slated for release on November 2, 2012.
It's to be directed by Rich Moore, best known for being an animation director on shows such as The Simpsons and Futurama. The movie is about a video game villain, Wreck-it Ralph (played by John C. Reilly), and how jealous he is of the hero, Fix-it Felix (Jack McBrayer), and how much everyone likes him.
Other character slated to appear in this movie include a Zombie, "Tigor", a Big Daddy from BioShock, Kano from Mortal Kombat, and a Pac-Man ghost.
Oh, and there was an actual arcade game called "Fix-it Felix Jr." that was playable at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California this past yeah:
...Now, first off, the homage/parody of Donkey Kong is obvious, especially when you see the arcade game. Wreck-it Ralph is basically a humanoid Donkey Kong, while Fix-it Felix is basically Jumpman/Mario version 2.0. This also appears to be a loving send-off to video games in general, which is awesome.
That said, I find it interesting that this will be the next entry into the Animated Disney Canon. It definitely follows the current 3D movie trend Disney's been doing with Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons, especially since this is mostly a comedic movie with Rich Moore of Simpsons and Futurama fame at the helm of it. It definitely doesn't feel very Disney-esque and doesn't fit the Disney stigma...
But then again, that's also a good thing, some movies don't work because the are butting up against the walls of the Disney precedent. Making fun and entertaining movies should be the ultimate goal, and this DEFINITELY sounds like a fun and entertaining movie. Not to mention, I'm a HUGE dork for video games, and hearing that Big Daddy and a Pac-Man ghost were cameoing in this movie made be squee a little.
Not to mention, I've become a huge fan of Disney and it's animation history, so I've decided to dedicate myself to watcing all the latest Disney movies (as well as the old ones), and judge for myself just how good or bad they are when compared to one another... Although, I'm mostly seeing it because I like Wreck-it Ralph's design and I think the premise is good fun.
With that said, I'll try to keep you guys updated on any new trailers that might come up, and I just felt like talking about it and wanted to raise awareness for this movie, alright?

When a new FPS game enters the arcade, Ralph tries to win a medal from Sergeant Calhoun (played by Jane Lynch). Something goes wrong, Ralph ends up wrecking stuff, and a deadly enemy threatens to shut down all the video games in the arcade, since they're all connected to the same power source. With the help of a glitch from a racing game called Vanelope Von Schweetz (played by Sarah Silverman), Ralph tries to stop the enemy by traveling through 3 distinct eras of video game history.
