Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

I have absolutely no problem with Peach getting kidnapped all the time, nor do I mind if she isn't captured.

On a sort-of-related subject, I don't think Peach is some neurotic who WANTS to get kidnapped.

I think the difficulty level to 100% all the 3D Mario games Galaxy 2 and beyond is ridiculous. (Looking at you, Piranha Creeper Creek After Dark Green Stars) I don't mind a challenge, but some crap is just unbelievable.

I prefer Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach to Link in Mario Kart 8. (Mario character that is a clone>unique character that's not even from Mario) I hate all their inclusions though.

I think Waluigi deserves his own game. Mario, Luigi, and Wario all have them, so why can't the purple guy get one?

I am one of the few people who wouldn't mind an "ultimate" Mario RPG in which Mario teams up with all his allies from every previous Mario RPG ever against an alliance of every villain in the series ever. They have to adventure across every world they've been to in previous games, plus some new ones. It should be very long and epic.

I want a Mario/Spongebob crossover.

Sounds like a bad fanfic.

Why does everyone pass that idea off as a bad fanfic? it could work if they actually tried to make one like that.

Because most people know a bad fanfic idea when they hear one.

Considering I view most fanservice to be nothing but pandering and has a tendency to get in the way of genuinely good things, then yes.

In regards to the Ultimate Mario RPG.... Yeah..... I cannot see it.

It's worth to note that the villains all have different motivations in their respected games. And should they accomplish their goal, they would only turn each other. Also it's a personal turn off when established villains collaborate if their goals clash.

I think something where all the heroes of a series reunite (In this case it would be the Paper Mario series as well as Super Mario RPG, maybe even some from the Mario & Luigi series) to defeat a bad guy is something as kids/very young fanfic authors you think is cool but later on when you understand story structure and such you realize it can kinda become a big mess. Plus the RPGs hardly have any continuity with eachother besides the games in the same series, how does Super Mario RPG fit in with Paper Mario? how does either of them fit with Mario and Luigi? The Mario RPGs are like entirely different universes from the regular Mario games. And with so many partners, how do you fit them all in without having their reintroductions bog up the story?

It'd just be too complicated to properly make from both a story and a gameplay perspective. Cause if you're really considering every single partner, then you have to remember that with the first two Paper Mario games there are quite a bit of characters that function nearly the exact same as one another in gameplay. The only thing actually being different is having them interact with eachother in the story. Which while would be interesting, you end up having clone Partners. Is that even a good idea to begin with for an RPG?

The entire concept just sounds too bloated anyhow. Everything would be disjointed and the characters would barely get any screen time.

And there is such a thing as a game being too long.

My unpopular opinion: I think the Mario Party series sucks (except for 1, 2 and 3) and I think Mario Party 8 is among the worst games ever made in the history of videogames.

Eh, I don't know I feel that's going a little too far. Mario Party 8 wasn't that good of a game but I'd say it's definitely playable compared to the likes of the actual games listed as some of the worst of all-time. (E.T Atari, Superman 64, Sonic 06, etc.) It's really more of a mediocre game.

My own unpopular opinion regarding Mario Party 8 I might as well say as well: I enjoy Mario Party 8 as a whole more then Mario Party 7 or 9. (Those are the only Mario Parties (Well besides Advance, but I've never played Mario Party Advance) I'd say are worse then MP8 though. So that might still not be saying much about MP8)

I think Toad shouldn't exist. Or at least give him a less cringeworthy voice.

I would like Count Bleck to get his own game, a traditional JRPG that takes place before the events of SPM.

I enjoyed SPM's plethora of original characters with original designs and wish they would do that more often. (I love the other RPGs but their NPCs mostly rely on the main series for their overall art style and design, even the original ones)

I think Yoshi is overrated. I don't hate him or anything, but seriously he wins almost every forum game with Mario characters.

I think Brocks should make an appearance in the main series. They fit too well, and would make great NPCs.

I enjoyed the Enigmansion in Sticker Star (one of the high points of the game IMO)

Waluigi needs to appear in a WarioWare or Wario Land game.

I don't care if the Paper Mario series ever returns to the exact style of the first two, as long as the games still have the deeper atmosphere the series had before Sticker Star.

I'd prefer Wario and Waluigi appear in a Mario & Luigi game before Peach and Daisy Rosalina.

I don't care how BS it may be, I want Fawful back. I want Antasma and Dimentio back too. Especially Antasma as I feel they haven't done everything they could do with his character yet.

Luigi should star in his own game that's not a mansion, a crappy PC game, or a DLC pack for an existing Mario game.

Don't, it's nothing like the console Mario Parties and it's pretty much crap.

So you want them to use completely hideous ugly designs that have nothing in common with what actually makes something appropriate for this series.

To hell with that.

almost every character looked like block heads or just looked ugly in general.

Probably the only new characters that looked good was bleck and dimentio

I think Brocks should make an appearance in the main series. They fit too well, and would make great NPCs. Because they're blocks, right?

I enjoyed the Enigmansion in Sticker Star (one of the high points of the game IMO) I liked it too, from what I remember, it had some good paperizing puzzles.

Waluigi needs to appear in a WarioWare or Wario Land game. That might be interesting.

I don't care if the Paper Mario series ever returns to the exact style of the first two, as long as the games still have the deeper atmosphere the series had before Sticker Star. I always like when games get more dark and sophisticated.

I'd prefer Wario and Waluigi appear in a Mario & Luigi game before Peach and Daisy Rosalina. What if they become playable in the next one, and (unlike the babies) have equal power with Mario and Luigi?

My opinion on everything you said.

It was far better than Sticker Star's "main-series only" cast.

Not even remotely. They were garbage before, and they are garbage now.

I like how you keep stating that as if it's the truth rather than an opinion.

An RPG where Luigi goes solo, perhaps have King Boo as the main antagonist or a new villain. Or Paper Luigi, based on his stories from TTYD.

i like how you cant even identify someones opinion and a fact.
