I think it was a rumor that was proven fake. It's not just another of SMF's ideas. There was an older thread for this somewhere.

Also, there was a old thread for this that got locked, it's not SMF's fault.
 
Also these 2 franchises should never meet outside of a Smash Bros. game. Other than the fact that they're both set in various alien locales, the gameplay and atmospheres would just clash so terribly.

I love them both, just not at the same time.
