how do you make animated gifs

There are sites that allow you to upload about 100 images and set the time that they display for.

Others convert video to GIFs.

Go to GIMP, make separate layers for each frame, and rename them to say this: Name here (XX ms)

XX is a variable you replace with any number. I suggest using 100 ms as a base

Then, save it as a .gif. Another window will pop up. In that window, do the following:

Check Save as Animation
Change frame disposal settings from I don't care to One frame per layer (replace)
Check Use disposal entered above for all frames

Export.

okey

It's easier to do it in VirtualDub.

Just make sure you create a new Folder somewhere, put all the frames you want to use in that Folder, and make sure you give them proper file names.
By proper file names, I mean:
"Pic01.png"
"Pic02.png"
"Pic03.png"
"Pic04.png"
"Pic05.png"
Etc.

If you have 10 or more pictures, avoid forgetting about the "0" in lower numbers.
Now just select all of them, and drag-and-drop them into VirtualDub.

Click "File" > "Export" > "Animated GIF...".
The rest would be self explaining.

Tip: Instead of pictures, you'll want to use a Video, as it's way easier to do.
Warning: GIF's get really big in file size, the higher your quality becomes. Keep it in mind.
