Have you ever had a dog put to "sleep"

My poor dog only ten. My parents were going to take him to be put down due to not eating and bad heart this morning. But then, all of the sudden, he started eating again. They say as long as he is eating they will not take him to be put to sleep. Oh God I don't know what is going to happen!

I'm glad my dog's never been put to "sleep".

Poor Annie would miss us in Doggy Heaven!

Well one time my dog almost had that happen.

She had swallowed a Tylonell (sp?) and something was wrong with her kidneys and stomach afterwards. She was in the small animal ER for a day and it was a miracle she lived actually, but her leg was shaved bald in one part.

That's 70 years in dog years

Also, thankfully no

I have had three of my family's dogs put down, with the last one only like two months ago.

I've also seen a puppy of one of our dogs put down not that long ago.

Then we had a litter of puppies and the momma accidentally rolled over a crushed it (it was a very sad day to see the puppy). And my cousins had their dog fall down stairs and I had to comfort them while the dog slowly died.

Pets are just not my quota I guess. I've seen way to many dog deaths.

Not yet, the first dog we had after I was born was called Ali. He got ran over after he jumped the fence. My Brother was 20 and he watched it happen since he was coming back from a walk and saw him limping across the street before he got hit. He's buried in the backyard.

We have two dogs now, they're still alive.

Yes, two.

We had a small mixed breed (really cute, like wiener dog and rat terrier and something else), who was really old since we've had her before I as even born. She lost a bunch of hair on her face and was having trouble walking (but she was like 12 or something, so she had a good run).

Our other dog, didn't have a very good run though.

I believe he was only 7, and he got cancer in his lymph nodes, and we had to put him down. Really sad.

No,almost had shoot one of our dogs(we have 3 at my house) last year when she got really sick, but we got some medicine for her and she's alive and well.
