How did you first get into Mario games

Driftmaster130

Rest in Peace, Walkazo
My first game was Mario Sunshine

I played my first video game when I was about, 3-4 years old. It was Super Smash Bros., but I couldn't play independent games such as Super Mario 64 because, well, I was too scared. My first Mario game, if you're talking specifically was probably Mario Kart 64.

Oh, and the main reason I got into Mario in the first place was that the first toys I got were Mario plushies that LeftyGreenMario and I absolutely adored, and that's how it got me and her into the series.

When I was 8 years old, I got a Gameboy Advance with Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for Christmas. After I played other Mario games for SNES, I really started to like Mario.

I remember getting this emulated system called the Super Joy III at a flea market when I was like 6 or 7. One of the games on it was the first Super Mario Bros.. I don't really remember how I actually got into the series, but I do remember that being my first Mario game.

Shouldn't this be in the Marioverse?

Anyways I got into Mario games when I was around 8 or something and my Uncle gave me an old NES he had,it had Super Mario Bros.,Super Mario Bros 2,and SMB3.

Maybe. After all, it talks about the Mario series rather than the MarioWiki

Brought Mario Kart DS.

Loved it (back then), started liking Mario games.

I've got a Nintendo 64 as my Sinterklaas Gift, bundled with Super Mario 64.
Before that, I didn't even know video games even existed.

And Nabber, maybe he meant, he found MKDS, and brought it home?

how do you manage to misspell "bought"

Carelessness is the only answer

I know, it shouldn't be in the wiki section. This is my first time creating a topic so if possible, could someone move it there?

my mother actually bought me a nes(think i was around 5 or 6) and it came with super mario bros. so im sure you can figure out the rest.

I first got into Mario games from watching my sister play Super Mario World. Then when I was old enough to start playing games and knew how to actually play, I started to love the Mario series.

When I was six years old I got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas, bundled with Super Mario 64 and a green controller. A month later, I got Mario Kart 64. The rest is history. I've been a fan since that moment.

One of the Christmas gifts that I got ten or eight or however many years ago was a GameCube, and two of the games that I got with it were Super Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. I don't know how it was that those two games got me hooked on the series as a whole, but now here I am with all the Mario games that I own today.

When my family's Atari 2600 died, my neighbours gave us their barely-used SNES and its lone game, Super Mario World. A couple years later, my parents bought me and my bro Super Mario Bros. Deluxe shortly after giving us Game Boy Colors (our starter games were Pokémon Red (me) and Blue (my bro)).

How do you not manage to use proper grammar while trying to correct someone else's spelling? I'm not saying that to be a dick, I just couldn't help noticing.

Anyway, as for me, I got into the series through Super Mario Bros. for the NES. It was part of a "3 in 1" cart, which also included Duck Hunt and World Class Track Meet.

My mother won a Nes in a contest with the game Super Mario Bros when I was 3.
She gave it to me. I loved it.

I want to say that super mario world was the first mario game I played but I'm not sure. To be safe, I'll just say that Super mario 64 was what launched me into playing mario games from the young age of four. Since then, I think I've played just about every mario game ever made. Accept for TTYD. Please don't tell me, I know what you are all going to say. I am going to buy and play it at some point.

^TTYD is the only big Mario game I've never played too, and I am trying to buy one.

So anyway the first Mario game I ever played was Super Mario Bros (or Super Mario Bros 3, I know I played both on the same day but I don't know which order) and I was either 3 or 4 at that time. I also played a lot of MK64 at my friend's house. I got a PS2 at the age of 6 because absolutely everyone else was playing it in 2006 and I kind of forgot about Nintendo. Of course I got a DS 16 months later and Mario Kart DS another 10 months after that and now, I have more Nintendo stuff than anyone else I know because they're all cod fanboys
