...but every enemy's HP and attack remained the same (yes, including the Muths and Brobot), there were still several enemies in the Pits of 100 Trials except you only faced one at a time, the Pixl's would be your partners and have their own HP, and the level-up-by-score system was still in place. Would you still like it?

If that were to happen, the gameplay aspects would be the same but portions of the engine would be changed in my opinion. Besides, the story itself for Super Paper Mario was good enough so that shouldn't be messed with, honestly.

The story itself wouldn't be altered in any way, just the gameplay.

Then people who hated it would suddenly like it and say it should have been this way in the first place.

^ I'm pretty sure he meant a more traditional, full-fledged RPG like the first two and Sticker Star (to some degree).

It already is an RPG.

i lol'd.

but pretty much what blaze said, if it had the elements of pm and ttyd id probably like it a bit more, as I'm quite the rpg nut.

I'd just hope they'd actually make it a neat experience and actually make it a bit challenging, I know many people dont care about difficulty here, but I really like giving it my all and having a hard time winning.

I think it would be more epic if it was a RPG :D

It wouldn't be SPM anymore (since the whole idea was/is SMB-style gameplay with PM elements), but it would probably be fun to play.

yeah but not that many people really enjoyed how the gameplay worked out, especially since alot of the level design was pretty meager and 3d flip had to be used CONSTANTLY making other characters not as useful since their abilities weren't required nearly as much as 3d flip.

plus there werent that many pm elements either. Since it really leaned on level up ups that only increased hp and the occasional attack increase. While there was action commands, it was entirely optional and never really did much outside of increasing points.

So with that in mind im sure more people would have preferred a turn based battle system to begin with.

Actually, it would affect the story. Without, the flipping gimmick, there would be great gaps in the story.

well im sure that could be worked around pretty easily, since thats just one minor detail.

Well, when I said PM elements, I was thinking more along the lines of how the story was written, character development, and so forth. Things relating to the battle system are more like SMRPG elements, which I don't think the series necessarily needs to perform well.

well it really depends entirely, some people just overall prefered the gameplay of the previous pm games, like me for example, its not that changing gameplay is bad, it was just not what me and some others really wanted.

It would definitly make things better. At the same time they(nintendo)should set aside there differences with square enix and just make a full-on sequal to super mario rpg and bring back geno. Though it will never happen.

Anyway, I would re-play super paper mario if it was a traditional rpg.

I know, cause he was the only one who had an attack that could do 9999 damage, and mario could only do about 599 at the most if you kept boosting his attack.

I will never, ever understand all the Geno hate around this site.

ill never understand why people like him.

He's an incredibly useful partner in SMRPG (I've always thought so, anyway).

bowser was alwyas more useful since he could take hits and hit back, something geno couldnt do since his defenses were so pathetically lame that he'd die easier then peach.

I didn't replace peach because she has a good healing skill, two attackers was pretty much that was required anyway.

I mean honestly only thing i liked about geno was his design, everything was just meh.
