Please let me know if there is a more suitable forum for this--I'm trying to teach someone the Overworld Theme to Super Mario Bros. 2 (covered by the Minibosses and surely a dozen other video-game cover bands), but would like to be familiar with the chord progression to be able to teach them more than melody.
Anyone knowledgeable enough about music to give me a lesson in the chord progression? I realize there is a jazz-guitar version of the song, and it's great, but I'd like to stick to simple chords for the student. I'm playing it in C, and noticing the bassline descends in half-steps, but past that I'm not getting where I'd like. Any help would be great!
