Google+ name?

OK, so on Google+, I'm currently using my real name. Youtube is constantly bugging me about changing to that there, too. Thing is, I want to start being known online by my Youtube name, not my real name. When I tried to delete my real name and just put "fawfulthegreat64" into the "First Name" slot, it said, "You must enter your full name." Any way around this? I simply want to be fawfulthegreat64 with no spaces and no extra words.

Also: I tried using the "Last Name" slot instead, it doesn't work either, and it won't let me simply hit the spacebar for the second slot.

Just keep ignoring the reminder each time they ask you. That's what I do

Is there no way to have a one-word name on google+ though?

Yes, create a Google+ Page, and Link it via the Advanced Settings on YouTube.

I just tried to make a page, filled out everything, and I was on Step Two, clicked Continue, and it said, "invalid request." That was the entirety of the page, no explanation or anything.
