Clichés in media

chillv

9-Volt must be my video game counterpart.
A cliché is something that has been done, copied or parodied so much that it has become unoriginal and bland. All types of media have clichés. Videogames, music, movies, tv etc.

This post is regarding cliches in all type of media (yes, even video games). With that being said, here is one cliché that I find absolutely lame and stupid.

TV/Movies
"I always cry a weddings"
If I hear someone say this one more time I am going to go Sonny Resetti on them. Why is it necessary to use this quote? Where did this even begin? The way this is used is flat out stupid. The two TV shows that use it in the most ridiculous ways are Matter's Tall Tales and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

I don't remember there being a TV Tropes page on the MarioWiki. There probably wasn't one and searching for it would be pointless and fruitless.

That must be painful.
I wasn't talking about myself, I was complaining about so many TV shows and Movies using that quote every single time somebody gets married.

Also, get back on topic. We are talking about clichés not whatever you guys are talking about.

The villain is the hero's father is quite common ever since the Empire Strikes Back.

Here is a cliché. An episode in a show when someone has to take care of an egg or something as if it is a baby. An episode like this has been in Everybody Hates Chris, American Dragon Jake Long, Danny Phantom and even The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

I hate the "liar reveal" cliche in media

And let's not forget this phrase

"and I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids"

A common cliche in the media is that the americans are the good guys.

Newsflash: were no different than soviet russia, were a socialist country now (hint:eek:bamacare)

meanwhile in russia, all 681692 of the people joseph stalin murdered for disagreeing with his politics suddenly twist violently in their graves

since you are 10 and don't understand what you're talking about, why don't you stop talking? it's embarrassing

I hate to get off topic and bring this up, but I'm going to correct you that we are no way a socialist country. We have a mixed economy

</end discussion even if i could be wrong that's not the point let's stay on topic>

No! I mean an episode when they had to take care of an egg at home as if it is their child. Roger from spongebob was to symbolize a car behind the wheel and the warm light symbolized knowing direction and guidance and without the light, the developing chick in the egg could die so a person behind the wheel without knowing directions and guidance can possibly crash and die.

why does everything have a good ending? I would like to see a bad ending sometime.

Do you mean entire shows or individual episodes? Cause there have been plenty of episodes that didn't have a happy ending.

The biggest cliché I've seen is that cafeteria food in American schools either looks/tastes disgusting or is deadly.

Also, breaking the fourth wall. That's the oldest trick in the book when it comes to t.v. (and video game) jokes.

Here are two clichés

The antagonist(s) or his/their dirty worker(s)/goon(s) doesn't ever succeed at anything whether it is simple or not and/or evil or not.

The antagonist always face bad carma even if they really didn't do anything that bad or anything at all.
