Desmume Lag

I've started using the DS emulator, Desmume and it seems to work fine up until the point where I leave the title screen and enter the actual game. From that point on it lags to the point where it is entirely unplayable. I have tested multiple pokemon games and LoZ Spirit Tracks. All of them lag.

Help me.

Solution: Buy a DS and/or better emulator.

The exact same thing happens for me when playing New Super Mario Bros.. I assume it's a problem with the actual program, rather than individuals.

I own both a DS(Lite) and a 3DS. Desmume is supposedly the best DS emulator out there. I want to use the emulator to do a fire monotype run on Black or White 2 a game I won't restart as it is the current gen and I have a lot of pokemon in it.

The same thing happened to me, but I saw this video and it helped.

If you have a DS already, and the games, and you don't want to restart your Gameplay, you either buy a new Cartridge, or you get a Flash Card and Backup your own Cartridges.
Simple as that, and not illegal nor laggy, unless you decide to download ROMs, instead of dumping them yourself.

I think its meant to do that. I'm fine with the lag personally for exmaple in Partners in Time it gives me more time to dodge enemy attacks.

Back when I had Windoes XP, WarioWare: Touched! lagged for me when it tried to render the 3D cutscenes.

But nowadays on my Mac, it worked fine in rendering Pokémon White's title screen.

I think results might vary depending on your OS.

Flash Card?

Yes?

A Card to load ROMs and Homebrew on a DS, DSi, or 3DS.
It's considered illegal, due to the fact, that it runs commercial DS ROMs, and also considered legal, because the original purpose (back in 2005) was to run Homebrew on it only.

The things described in the video did not help me.

I don't know, maybe it was a different video. Or it might depend on your computer, which OS do you have? (I have XP but they had 7 in the video and it worked for me)

I've got Windows 8.

Can you take a screenshot of your emulator? I think it might be a little different for 8.

Maybe that is the problem, resizing it to twice the normal size.
I run it original size, and it seems to lag for me. So I'm not sure if the size of the display is the problem.

I run it original size as well. And also, when I said that a YouTube video fixed it, it didn't fix it completely (still a bit of lag at times), but it doesn't lag so much that I can't play it. I'll search for the YouTube video again
