Yes, but be aware, there's a mistake so many people make with this.
You need to actually view the Image without the Wiki layout surrounding it, in order to do it right.

for example, this image:

put in

Also, wiki markup doesn't work here. To link to wiki pages from here, use this:

If this doesn't work for your avatar then the image is too big

To get the image source, right click image, click "Copy Image Location" and place it on Image URL (if you're embedding images, be sure to place the [img][/img] tags!)

Of course not! It's a link to a page, not an image URL. Use the link Baby Luigi posted instead.
