Do you think Rare own right to the DKC games and DK64

A few months ago, all three DKC were pulled from Wii VC (I only managed to get the first two games, didn't touch the second).

Do you think Rare own the rights to these games?

i can tell you why there's no DK64 on the wii virtual console

DK64 needed the expansion pak

there's no way to properly emulate that, as the game checks your controller to see if it's there

Then why is Majora's Mask on VC then.

It's a shame that they were removed from the Virtual Console: I never got around to downloading them. It was because of royalty disputes between Nintendo and Microsoft, wasn't it? I'd say that Rareware/Microsoft would legally own at least a 50% portion of the game rights as developer, as Nintendo is the publisher/distributor.

apparently, with DK64, the expansion pack fixed an unexplainable, impossible to figure out what caused it glitch

they may have just used the version from the zelda collector's edition on the gamecube, which didn't ask for an expansion pack

No, Rare doesn't own any rights to those games whatsoever anymore. I don't know why people are still bothering to entertain the thought of this, when games like King of Swing, Jungle Climber, and Barrel Blast exist, which all contain the K. Rool, the Kremling army, and several other characters that debuted in the Country series. Oh, and need I mention Super Mario Strikers and Mario Super Sluggers? If Rare truly owned the rights to the series, then I'm pretty sure there would have been something in the credits (of the games I mentioned) to specify this, kind of like what was done with Geno in Superstar Saga.

Simple explanation: Rare could possibly own the rights to the games themselves, but not the characters in the games.
