Curious question regarding the Mafia FAQ

So, if the Mafia FAQ wasn't made until April 2012, did you guys just...know how to play? Did anyone teach you? I mean, it was hard for me to catch on how to play until the FAQ was put up, and I'm surprised it wasn't put up when the board first was made.

Back when Mafia started (as Werewolf), hosts usually explained the rules and the game mechanics on their games, or linked to the original explanation by Stoob.

Ohhh, okay. So back then, each individual game explained how they were played?

Pretty much If you look at the oldest games in the archives you'll get an idea.
