What do you think video games will be like in the year 3000?

Will people even still be gaming then?

world dies by alien galactic chainsaws so probably not.

The world would probably have suffered from mass pollution and over-population by the year 3000 (if the theory that the number of people is going to plateau at 9 billion is false). But if video games were still being made 987 years from now, I simply cannot imagine what they would be like, considering the huge progress of electronic mankind in the past 50 years.

Virtual reality Mario Kart.

It will have every known Mario character plus other Nintendo characters in it. You will actually be in the kart, driving through the Mushroom Kingdom as if you were really in it.

I wonder how things will be when the sun expands its luminosity, just on the brink of killing all organisms?

lots of parties

Well, I believe that we are actually the greenish generation, and I feel like there will be a lot of rehealing of the earth of our emissions and pollutions, and I believe that people will hopefully become more sensitive to how they do some stuff.

I also feel that the advancements in technology will begin to start to flat-line, basically plateau. I mean, I still think that we'll always constantly grow in technology, but I feel that at a point we're just going to barely see much changes at the rate we expect. I do feel like a decade or two from now, we'll see some decreases in the advances in technology. I mean really; Back to the Future II showed that by 3 years from now, we would all have flying cars and all these fancy new technology, and we are no where near close to that.

So, by 3000, which is basically a 1,000 years from now, I do see major advances in Video Gaming - to the point that you can play it yourself in a room or anywhere on the go and you become the controller, but I also see some of the classic stuff still being around, of just a television and controller and playing good old Mario on New Super Mario Bros. 100, so I do have optimism that we wouldn't just teleport to the future in 3000 and find stuff TOO different.

Man, what an optimist. I don't even give us until 2500.

Damn, you people are optimistic.

I don't give us humans until 2300 before we seriously fuck this world up.

On a slightly more serious note, how i see the future:

Also, you would probably go to the store, to buy the title screen for 80$, and then use the title screen to buy dlc for the rest of the game.

Meh, we've died right when our ancestor gave birth to a species that turned into us.

Oh, don't worry, my faith in humanity died before we died.

You know, I'm sure that people in the year 1000 were curious about what we would be like in a thousand years, and I bet they too wondered how we were probably not going to make it to 2000 (well, the official calender wasn't set until the 1500's (iirc)).

Hell, I'm pretty sure that people have been thinking it's been the end of the world since the BC era.

We all should definitely be optimistic. I have a feeling that we'll be long surviving past 3000, and that we'll probably have it to where it'll be 50,000 AD, and humanity will still exist.

I'm a pessimist.

difference is back then you only had to worry about war and disease, really

now you have to worry about war, disease, pollution, starvation, poverty, radiation, and who knows what else I forgot to list
