Differences between obstacles and enemies

Firebars, Roto-discs, Spiked Balls 'n' Chains are considered to be obstacles because also they move around.

They are not actually enemies because they are not living creatures such as Goombas, Troopas, Boos and other living enemies.

Obstacles are non-living obstacles set in place by the antagonist to act as a hinderance to the protagonist.

Movement doesn't mean anything.
